The Friends of Julian's Bower Declare Mission Accomplished!

The Friends of Julian’s Bower was established in the waning days of Julian's life to assist in manifesting his dream of leaving his Bower to be enjoyed by future generations.

Julian’s wish has come true! Kestrel Land Trust is now the steward and caretaker of the land. Friends of Julian's Bower website will be passing the torch to Kestrel Land Trust.

Mission Statement of the Friends of Julian’s Bower:

The Friends will implement fundraising and volunteer action together with entities such as the town of Shutesbury, Mass Audubon, and Kestrel Land Trust to support conservation, stewardship and management of Julian’sBower.

The Friends of Julian’s Bower is a grassroots community group formed of friends and neighbors to assist in the care, maintenance and preservation of conservation land enhanced for nearly a half century by Julian’s grand visions of beauty located across from the intersection of Laurel Drive on Wendell Road in Shutesbury, Mass.

Julian’s wish for the land is for enjoyment of and connection to nature and each other in contemplative, artistic, and literary pursuits of individuals and quiet groups.
