The County of Monterey is bringing a new 4,250-square-foot public library to the East Garrison neighborhood, featuring a flexible community room, a Sheriff’s field office, children’s and teen areas, and an outdoor patio for the whole community to enjoy, making it a central hub for public services in this growing Town Center development. Built on the grounds of the historic Fort Ord, East Garrison’s new library will serve as a gathering place for generations to come.
The ground-braking ceremony took place on September 19, 2026.
Construction is expected to begin in October, 2026 and be completed in early 2028.
