Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to the FridgeCue mobile application (“Application”), created by Jacky Lam (“Service Provider”) as a freemium service.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Application.

1. Use of the Application
FridgeCue helps users manage food inventory, expiry dates, shopping lists, recipes, receipt scanning, AI recipe suggestions, and household sharing features.
You agree to use the Application only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not:
- Use the Application for illegal, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, modify, or distribute the Application without permission.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or performance of the Application.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or services.
- Use the Application to upload or process content that violates the rights of others.
2. Freemium Service and Premium Features
The Application is offered as a freemium service. Some features may be available for free, while other features may require a paid subscription, one-time purchase, or Premium access.
Premium features may include, but are not limited to, increased AI usage, cloud sync, household sharing, receipt scanning features, or other advanced functionality.
The Service Provider may add, remove, change, limit, or discontinue free or Premium features at any time.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
Purchases and subscriptions may be processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, or other supported payment services.
Subscription billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled according to the terms and policies of the applicable app store or payment provider.
If you purchase a subscription:
- Your subscription may automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You are responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Deleting the Application does not automatically cancel your subscription.
- Refund requests are subject to the policies of Apple, Google, or the applicable payment provider.
The Service Provider does not directly process credit card information.
4. Account and Sign-In
Some features may require an account or sign-in through supported authentication providers, such as Apple, Google, or email.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and for any activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating or updating your account.
The Service Provider may suspend or terminate access if your account is used in violation of these Terms.
5. User Content and Data
You may enter, upload, create, or store content in the Application, including inventory items, shopping lists, recipes, receipt images, household data, and related information (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By using the Application, you grant the Service Provider permission to process your User Content as necessary to operate, provide, improve, secure, and support the Application. This may include processing through backend services and trusted third-party service providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you provide.
6. AI Features
The Application may include AI-powered features, such as recipe generation, recipe search, receipt OCR, grocery item extraction, and smart suggestions.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsafe, unsuitable, or not appropriate for your dietary, health, allergy, religious, or personal needs.
You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated recipes, ingredients, instructions, expiry suggestions, and shopping recommendations before relying on them.
The Application does not provide medical, nutrition, health, allergy, food safety, or professional advice.
If you have allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, or food safety concerns, you should use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
7. Receipt Scanning and Food Information
Receipt scanning, OCR, food recognition, expiry estimates, and category suggestions are provided for convenience only.
The Application may incorrectly identify items, quantities, prices, categories, or expiry timing.
You are responsible for checking and correcting scanned or suggested information before relying on it.
The Service Provider is not responsible for spoiled food, incorrect expiry dates, missed reminders, incorrect grocery information, or decisions made based on Application suggestions.
8. Household Sharing
The Application may allow you to create or join a household, share inventory, shopping lists, recipes, and activity with other household members.
By using household sharing, you understand that selected information may be visible to other members of the same household.
You are responsible for inviting only people you trust and for managing your household membership.
The Service Provider is not responsible for disputes, changes, deletions, or actions taken by household members.
9. Notifications and Reminders
The Application may provide notifications or reminders, such as expiry alerts, smart suggestions, household reminders, and fridge reminders.
Notifications are provided for convenience only and may be delayed, missed, inaccurate, or unavailable depending on your device settings, operating system, network, or app state.
You remain responsible for checking your food, expiry dates, inventory, and shopping needs.
10. Availability and Changes
The Application is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.
The Service Provider may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application or any feature at any time, with or without notice.
The Service Provider does not guarantee that the Application will always be available, error-free, secure, uninterrupted, or compatible with every device or operating system.
11. Intellectual Property
The Application, including its design, features, software, branding, text, graphics, and other materials, is owned by the Service Provider or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Application, except where permitted by law.
12. Third-Party Services
The Application may use third-party services, including but not limited to Supabase, Expo, RevenueCat, Google Gemini API, Apple services, and Google services.
Your use of the Application may also be subject to the terms and policies of those third-party services.
The Service Provider is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their content, or their data practices.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Application is also governed by the Privacy Policy.
Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how information is collected, used, shared, retained, and deleted.
14. Account Deletion and Termination
You may stop using the Application at any time.
Where available, you may delete your account through the Application. You may also contact the Service Provider to request deletion.
The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access to the Application if you violate these Terms, misuse the Application, create risk for other users, or create legal or security concerns.
Account deletion or termination may not automatically cancel active subscriptions. You must cancel subscriptions through the applicable app store or payment provider.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Application is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider disclaims all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, and non-infringement.
The Service Provider does not warrant that the Application will meet your requirements or that results from the Application will be accurate, complete, safe, or reliable.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of food, loss of profits, subscription issues, device issues, service interruption, or reliance on AI-generated or app-generated suggestions.
The Service Provider’s total liability for any claim related to the Application will be limited to the amount you paid for the Application or subscription during the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
17. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from your use of the Application, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
18. App Store Terms
If you downloaded the Application from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of the Application may also be subject to the applicable app store terms and conditions.
Apple and Google are not responsible for providing support or maintenance for the Application, except as required by applicable app store policies.
19. Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time.
If changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Your continued use of the Application after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by the laws applicable in the Service Provider’s place of operation, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your location.
