I'm coming to Recreational Badminton for the first time. How do I get started? Ask for Sonny Lim or any of the other FSA Badminton Club officers. They will give you a short orientation.
How do I find a court to play on? We have formal rules to promote fairness. In order to call a court, you must get a clothespin (provided by us) and write your name on it. Then clip the clothespin onto a post at the court where you would like to play. When your clothespin is next you will need to be seated near by so that other players will know who’s clothespin it is. If you haven’t already done so, please read Badminton Activity Policies and Rules for more information.
How can I find out about schedule updates? Occasionally a session may be cancelled because the gym is not available to us. The best way to get schedule updates is to check the Fresno Badminton Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/fresnobadminton
Is there any formal instruction? Please come to a session and speak to the activity organizer. Specific guidance about technique and game tactics is provided to participants as the participant seeks it but the primary focus of the course is to provide a place for healthy, vigorous and fun physical activity. Each participant is encouraged to define his/her own level of commitment in terms of time spent at the gym and skills development.
I have read the FAQ and have more questions. What should I do? Make a post on Facebook or send an e-mail with your questions to the FSA Badminton Club president, Sonny Lim. His e-mail address is sonnylim99@gmail.com . You may also come to the gym at the posted times. Someone there should be able to answer your questions.
