Parent Volunteer FAQs:

School Visitors VS PTO VOLUNTEERS VS Level 1 SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

• School Visitors are simply visiting the school.

• PTO Volunteers are volunteering on behalf of the FRES PTO. No application necessary.

• Level 1 School Volunteers are volunteers on behalf of FRES Teachers, Staff, and Administration. PCPS Volunteers Application and Approval is required. 

How Do I become a School Visitor?

You may visit the school during your child's designated lunch time and eat lunch with them. Or if you have permission from school staff you may visit the school for another reason. 

How do I sign up to be a PTO Volunteer?

This one is easy! Wait until a Sign Up Genius for a PTO event becomes available and sign up! No approval process is necessary. These will be posted on the PTO Website HERE.

How do I sign up to be a Level 1 School Volunteer?

This is more involved and takes some time. 

1) Go HERE to apply

2) Follow the steps outlined HERE to start the application process

3) Follow these steps HERE to finish the process 

This process takes a few weeks, SO DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF THE EVENT TO START THIS PROCESS.

How do I sign-in to the school?

School Visitors and PTO Volunteers will select VISITOR when checking into the school computers in the front office. 

Level 1 School Volunteers will select VOLUNTEER when checking into the school computers in the front office. 

• You must have your Driver's License to scan in. 

• You must wear your name badge on the front of your upper torso at all times. 

• Don't forget to scan out with your name badge when you leave for the day. 

What are some examples of times when I will be a School Visitor?

• Lunch with your child

• Volunteering in the classroom (not unattended, one-on-one with students)

• Attending a class party

• Attending a presentation, concert, or assembly

What are some examples of events where I will be a PTO Volunteer?

• Book Fair 

• Holiday Shop

• Decorating for events

• Preparing for a teacher luncheon

• School dance snack refills

What are some examples of events when I will be a Level 1 School Volunteer?

• Volunteering in the classroom (may be unattended, one-on-one with students)

• PTO Executive Officers

How Do I become a HigH School Helper?

• Wait until a Sign Up Genius for a PTO event becomes available and sign up! These will be posted on the PTO Website HERE.

• Email us at PTOFRES@gmail.com to be added to the HSH Volunteer list. 

How do I sign-in to the school for events?

There is a sign-in sheet in the front office. You will be given an orange Visitor badge. 

• You must wear your name badge on the front of your upper torso at all times. 

• Don't forget to sign out when you leave for the day.
