The goal of the FREP service project is to put what we are learning about our faith in FREP classrooms into action!
Welcome to the 3rd Annual FREP Service Project Organizational page!
Once again, we will be assembling men's and women's hygiene kits to donate to Catholic Charities. The list of items included in kits is below.
Our goal this year is 400 kits!!
HOW TO HELP:
FAMILIES: We will assemble the kits on Sunday, February 8 after the 10 am mass. FREP teachers and Youth Group leaders will be on hand to help! Please also share the Amazon wish list with friends and family who may want to contribute to the project.
We will have You Are Loved cards in pews during Mass along with crayons and stickers should your children wish to multitask prayerfully during church! You can give completed cards to your FREP teacher.
FREP YOUTH: We are asking any FREP student in grades 4-6 and any Youth Group teens to come to the Paulist Center on Saturday afternoon, February 7 to help set up the assembly lines. Exact time TBD. Pizza will be served! Click here for a link to let us know you can come for set up!
ENTIRE COMMUNITY: (1) Donate items for the kits! The easiest way for us to collect donations in bulk is through Amazon. The link to our list is here. You can buy items that will be shipped directly to the Paulist Center or you can donate money to the project fund that we will use to purchase any outstanding items. We know Amazon poses some moral and ethical challenges, so if you want to contribute but don't want to use Amazon, you can also Venmo your donation to @brigidrowlings or use Zelle to transfer funds to 410-212-5619 with the note FREP Service Project. We will use those funds to purchase items from Costco which has a strong DEI commitment instead.
(2) Join us on February 8 after the 10 am mass! This is an all-hands-on-deck situation! We'd love to have you help with the kit assembly.
(3) Are you a photographer or do you have a camera or iPhone? We'd love to have someone capture the project in action on February 8. Email brigidrowlings@gmail.com if you'd be willing to take photos.
(4) Print out and decorate You Are Loved cards. We put these into the kits so that recipients know we are thinking of them. You can bring these cards with you on February 8 or leave them in designated boxes in the Chapel.
