Who are the Bookleggers?

Ask any 2nd- to 5th-grade student in Fremont about the book-loving folks who enter Fremont Unified School District classrooms to paint intriguing descriptions of books, compelling students to check out and read them!
Bookleggers are Alameda County LIbrary volunteers dedicated to promoting independent reading by children.
We visit classrooms and introduce books that kids simply can't resist. Not just any books... these books are gems, the best of the best: exciting adventures, suspenseful mysteries, hilarious comedies, and eye-popping nonfiction.
