Usually, you tend to visit the gypsy tent at a fair (or a festival) to ask the fortune teller some problems happening in your life and ways to solve them. But, at a certain point, you want to buy a table and a Tarot deck to practice reading your own destiny. However, when you do for yourself, you feel awkward and nervous – these reactions will affect badly on the reading process. So, how to do a Tarot reading if you’re beginners? Just a few tips and a long time practice, you’ll become fluently in interpreting cards’ meaning. Maybe in the future, you don’t have to waste money on the psychics.
Choose the Tarot deck – all the Tarot decks can be found easily in the local bookstores or some gramarye shops. From Angel cards to animal spirit guide cards, feel free to choose one for yourself. The best advice here is – go with your intuition: buy the one that calls you inside.
*Note: some decks called “Oracle” can’t be used for doing spreads. Instead, they are availed for daily guidance.
Prepare the cards – let’s observe each card once before starting the Tarot reading to remove all the blank or instructional cards. Then, place the deck on an ideal place that can absorb the energy and vibration of both the reader and the surrounding environment. You can go outdoors and put the deck under moonlight or the sun.
Please divide the Major Arcana cards – they are not considered as a part of the suit, i.e. the Tower and the Strength. Place the Minor Arcana in one deck, and the other in another place, and then, shuffle each deck 8 times (the sacred number).
Read the cards – for the beginners, let’s start with a simple reading: a basic 3-card spread. Firstly, pick one card from the Major Arcana deck – the card representing for YOU. Next, shuffle the Minor Arcana deck for 8 times and separate it to 3 small decks facing down. Then, turn over each card of each pile.
The first card will indicate the reader’s physical matter, the second one will show the mental condition or something holding you back, and the last one shows your spiritual realm. Most of the time, the third card is the message from the Divinity.
Once you determine the meaning and symbolism of each card in each position, you can easily relate to your current situation. How accurate can your reading be?
