Julie Groce - Program Director
Rachel Chabot - Site Coordinator
Rachel is a French teacher and volleyball coach at Stratford Academy during the year. She and her husband Jeff are often seen on stage or behind the scenes at Theatre Macon and Macon Little Theatre. They have a cat, Franklin, who ruins everything. Rachel has lived in Macon for 7 years, following her parents (Bob and Martha Veto) to Macon after finishing her undergraduate degree at Davidson College and her Masters at the University of Georgia (Go 'Cats! Lee Beaty - Servant Leader Intern
Lee Beaty is originally from Rochester, New York, but was raised in Atlanta from the age of 7. She is a senior at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. She is majoring in Biology and is doing the pre-medical track. This will be Lee's third year participating in Freedom School.
Briana Bloodworth - Servant Leader Intern
Briana Bloodworth attends the prestigious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University as a rising sophomore. She is an honor student studying Business Economics with a concentration in law, in hopes of becoming a Civil Rights lawyer. Giving back to the community is one of Briana's main goals. Briana was selected to the S.I.S.T.E.R.S. mentoring program at North Carolina A&T State University. By being a part of the Freedom School program, Briana hopes to be a role model and example for all of her students.
Devyn Harrod - Servant Leader Intern
Devyn Harrod is a rising junior at Mercer University, double majoring in Media Studies and Spanish with a minor in Communications. Devyn has been a consistent member of the President's list and Dean's list throughout her collegiate studies. She is also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society, serving as its social media chair and historian, and a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and the University's International Honors program. Devyn was selected to participate in Mercer on a Mission as a Spanish interpreter for a medical program in Ecuador. Outside of academics, Devyn is a member of Mercer's Student Government Association and serves as Student Correspondent for the External Relations Committee. Devyn is also an avid writer, having an article published in Mercer's newspaper, the Cluster, and winning various awards. A native of Atlanta, Devyn is also a model and is involved as a volunteer with numerous organizations in Atlanta including Ebenezer Baptist Church, Solomon's Temple Foundation, and the Trumpet Awards Foundation.
Allison Hinson - Servant Leader Intern
Allison Hinson is a Macon native. She has recently graduated with honors from the University of Georgia, where she majored in Early Childhood Education. Next fall, she will be teaching fifth grade English at Byron Elementary School. She is excited to be a part of the first year of Freedom School Macon, and can't wait to see how the program grows!
Sarah-Ann Hopper - Servant Leader Intern
Sarah-Ann Hopper is from Cordele, GA. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BSEd in Early Childhood Education in May 2017. In August, she will start work as an elementary school teacher in the Bibb County School District. She has been married for one year to her husband who is currently a medical student at Mercer University.
Quinten Oppong - Servant Leader Intern
Quinten Pepprah Oppong, whose family is originally from Ghana, was actually born in Italy; talk about a plot twist! He is currently a senior at Mercer University and is majoring in Sociology with a Public Health minor. He believes like other believers that we have been called to "defend the fatherless and protect the innocent." He is excited to see how he can do that through Freedom School.
