Freeda Aslan Memorial

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Freeda was the wife of Harry J. Aslan, one of the charter members of the Reedley College Foundation. She was a resident of Kingsburg for 46 years. She participated in many programs for youth activities, such as Scouts, 4-H, and youth exchange. She served as the First Lady of Lions Club International in the year 1975-1976 when her husband was Lions International President.

Freeda believed in community service and stood strong for good moral character and good citizenship. She felt education builds leaders, and leadership is vital to home, school, community, and government. Freeda was a lovely lady. She was both charming and intelligent. She loved people at all levels of stature. Her pleasing personality won her the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Her children, Phillip and Susan, both attended Reedley College.
