Pampas grass is a tall reed like plant that belongs in the family Poaceae and is native to southern South America, but can be an invasive species when its seeds are moved to a different location and planted. This is usually caused by winds but can also be hand planted. It is a perennial plant and can reach a height of 4 meters (13 feet).

Pampas grass thrive in areas with lots of sun exposure but with is okay with partial shade. It works well with lots of various soil types but the best is a moist well draining soil. They are also commonly found along coastal regions.
Resistant to various diseases and pesticides, Pampas Grass is a very durable plant and can live in various places. A common way for them to appear in different places is by either wind or moving them by hand by replanting seeds or the plant itself somewhere else. They are usually transferred for the idea of decoration.
