Hello. I would like some advice on how to create ringtones from My Music Library. I would like to use iOS but might be willing to try using the Mac if that will work better. I know absolutely nothing about Audio editing and find it very intimidating. Not all of the ringtones I want to make are at the beginning of songs.

I have assigned specific ringtones for specific contacts and recently when that person calls me, the specified ringtone is not working, instead my default ringtone for people I don't know rings. I've gone in and re-assigned the ringtones, but it still isn't working. Please if you know what to do, help me fix this! Thanks!

All of my ringtones used to be in my iTunes library "BEFORE I updated/restored" my library and iphone... But they did disappear with the new ios 11... release and do NOT appear again... Besides the ringtones, I keep getting similar issues with my books: there is no more books option in the iTunes library. Now you have to contrive to save this info to your PC and keep it in your iphone. Why they make it such a rocket science? I know why. And the message about this will keep Apple's customers aware about WHY Apple is doing these tricks and many other similar things. Unless Apple stops this behavior.

Yes, the above responses helped. The steps I suggest would be to (1) open iTunes, (2) connect your iPhone, but CANCEL the syncing, which will otherwise overwrite your phone contents with the iTunes library info, which doesn't include the ringtones [This is done either by hitting the cancel "x" in the sync window or holding the COMMAND and OPTION keys (Apple) or the CONTROL and SHIFT keys (PC) when opening iTunes.], (3) selecting backup to the computer, which backs up the phone content, including the ringtones, to the computer. THEN, after making your sync selections include ringtones (and anything else you want to move onto the phone from iTunes), you can then, or when you choose, sync the chosen iTunes content onto the phone. (This will be done automatically when the phone is connected and the syncing is not canceled as described above. WHEW.

When I plug my old phone into my computer and go to This PC\KYOCERA\Internal storage\media\audio\ringtones like I have been told to go to for the default ringtones, the only ones that show up are a couple of custom ringtones I had put on previously. I want to extract the default ringtones like AT&T Play On and notification sounds like Syrma, so that I can put them on my new phone.

I just transferred data from iPhone 7+ to new iPhone 11pro max. No problems except my custom ringtones are all still on my iPhone 11 but they will not show up in iTunes. In iTunes, I click on my device and under "On My Device" I click on Tones but it's empty. I tried to drag and drop a custom ringtone onto the tones window in iTunes then clicked sync but it did not sync to my iPhone.

If I'm understanding correctly, you have custom ringtones which transferred to your new iPhone from your old one, but they aren't showing in iTunes? However, you also mentioned that tones are not syncing to your new iPhone from iTunes.

Since iTunes 12.7 tones are no longer managed directly in the iTunes library. See Create and manage ringtones in iTunes - Apple Community for details. You may be able to use a third party utility to copy off your custom tones to your local drive, then reset the ringtone storage on the device so that you can add the old tones and any new ones that you want back to the device.

All the ringtones on my new iPhone play just fine on my iPhone. I can switch my ring tones no problem. There's about 20 rt's on my iPhone. In iTunes under "On My Device" with my iPhone connected to my computer (Win7), I click on "Tones" the folder is empty. In: My Music > iTunes folder > iTunes media, there is no Tones folder. My iPhone ringtones are on my computer in My Music > iPhone ringtones. I tried to import the folder in iTunes > "add folder to library" and when that didn't work I tried to import each file and that didn't work. When I double a ring tone in the folder, iTunes opens but doesn't play the file/ringtone. In iTunes > on my device > Tones, I tried to drag and drop a ringtone on tones. It was there but grayed out and would not play. I then clicked sync but it did not sync to my phone. Play lists, Photos, Music, all sync fine without problems.

Many years and iPhones ago, I created ringtones from music I legally own but not bought from the Apple Store. They worked fine on all iPhones but since the last upgrade, they are no longer on my phone.

Well I tried all of those methods. Garageband didn't seem to have method for adding already made ringtones. I was probably just too inpatient to follow it all the way through. However I did plug my phone into my windows PC and opened iTunes (yes the app that is no longer supported), and when it appeared, I transfered the ringtones on my PC to the iPhone. All is well now and when my phone rings it once again plays the Beatles "You say Hello and I say Goodbye"

I was trying to add a new contact and discovered that the Ringtones option has completely disappeared from editing in Contacts. The old contacts still show their individual ringtones (and the ringtones work when someone calls me) and I can still see the ringtones under "Sounds & Vibrations". But when I tap "edit" in Contacts, Ringtones does not come up.

I've looked up help videos that mention a sound picker app. My phone doesn't show it (or any way to get to system apps). Please help.

Okay, I can reach ringtones from there. But I used to be able to access it from the edit menu under the individual contacts and that has disappeared.

Is that a glitch with my phone, or just some new pointless and inconvenient change Samsung made in their last update?

Thank you for the app suggestion! I was able to at least put the files into the correct folders, but unfortunately, they don't show up in the selection list for either ringtones or notifications. I'm not sure if they need to be specific encoders to work, or if there's still just no way for it to access it on US models.

If I remember correctly, for Holloween they did custome auto responses but not the ringtones.

Any case, go to the eufy community and check with support@eufylife.com to see if they have any plans for Christmas.

You see, I thought we had all learned a lesson with the Crazy Frog and ringtones based entirely on repeating single-syllable words, but apparently not. BingTones are now invading public places around the world. In a bid to maintain social order, I come offering some ringtones from Windows 7.

I'm testing out Zoom phone service, and in the setup process, I'd like to add custom .wav files to the options that users can select from for their ringtone. I uploaded a .wav file via the vvx450's web interface, but once I add the url to the recommended Zoom provisioning server, it gets wiped from the phone. Is there a simple way to create a template that lets me include ringtones for users?

Solved after some digging.

A user on the Poly forums showed how to format .wav files to work on Poly VVX phones: -SIP-Phones/Polycom-VVX300-and-custom-ringtones/m-p/83002/highligh...

Building the provision template wasn't too hard once I found the corresponding parameter in the Poly UC documentation: -ag-6-0-0/page/r-ucs-ag-sampled-audio-file-parameters.html

After that, it was just a matter of uploading my .wav file to a publicly accessible url, one caveat being that I had to make sure the .wav file name in the url had no special characters, because it messed up the Poly phone. On Zoom's side, the provision template looks like this:

saf.2 = " "

Oh, I almost forgot: I found the "normalize" feature in step 3 to make my new ringtone a lot louder than the default ringtones already on my phone, so unlike what I initially thought, this may be not be suitable for using every time.

Have a very weird and annoying problem: if I connect a headset to the notebook via Bluetooth, I am getting a strange ringtone when I receive a call in MS Teams. I have turned off "play sound for incoming calls and notifications" option, but it is still ringing. I thought it was a feature of Jabra headphones (tried on Jabra 75t), but when I connected wife's Samsung headphones (Samsung Buds 2), I got the different ringtone! :) Neither of these ringtones are MS Teams ringtones (checked all available) and weirdly enough, none of them are visible on visualization in System->Sound->More sound settings -> Playback (it seems it plays on headphones itself). Jabra support said they do not have any pre-loaded ringtones on the headphones.

Additionally, when I'm on the meeting in MS Teams, this ringtone is not playing when I receive calls.

Having this issue for a year already, but to be honest, was not able to understand the cause of it. When I connect a non-Bluetooth headset (SteelSeries Arctic 7) I don't hear any additional ringtone.

Reinstalled Teams completely - did not help.

Any ideas how to disable it? 0852c4b9a8
