I am still learning to use my week old iPhone 14. IOS 16.2 and have paired it successfully with my Oticon More1 hearing aids. However, while I receive phone calls through my hearing aids. I cannot get to hear the rings in my aids first, though I have set the answer timing to 13 seconds. Calls aren't ringing on my phone either, though I'm hearing notification sounds for texts etc. through my aids.

Under Settings > Sounds & Haptics > RINGTONE AND ALERT VOLUME: set the ringtone volume to 70% or so (level you can comfortably hear with your hearing aids) and toggle OFF "Change with Buttons". This helps to separate your iphone's audio volume with ringtone and alert (including alarm) volume. (This forces the ringtone to sound both on your phone and your HA--I didn't see your response to only hear the ringtone in your HA only. This helps to keep the alert volume consistent regardless of audio volume setting.)

So I tried everything that was suggested in the thread and nothing worked. So I figured it maybe something with the Apple watch . Goto the Apple watch App on your phone and It worked. scroll down to phone and open , turn off ringtone sound. This work for me.

When I call my wife's phone from my phone, I hear three or four rings through my handset before her ringtone starts. Is there a way to reduce or eliminate this delay? (Yes I have checked the audio file. The sound starts instantly in the file.)

All of this and more (depending on the origin of the call, the carriers involved, and how smoothly things are running on that particular day) happens in fractions of seconds. When taken altogether, though, it can create a noticeable delay. That's why it takes so long for your wife's phone to start ringing and that's also why there's not much you can do about it. It's all pretty cool if you think about it.

Sometimes I don't want to take a call, but I don't want him to know that. So I left the phone be until it stops, so it would appear that I'm away from phone or something and I miss the call. Can I silence the ringing tone and the vibration while doing that?

On an Android phone, the process is very similar. Go to Settings and then tap on Sounds and vibration. Tap on Ringtone or Phone Ringtone and choose from the preset choices. When you touch your choice, the circle next to your choice will be filled in. Then tap Save.

And a legal warning: You can find many tutorials online on how to turn your iTunes music into a ringtone. It surely can be done. But as unfair as it seems, it might not be legal. Because of copyright laws, even if you already own a song, you must buy it again to turn it into a ringtone, according to an answer on an Apple-controlled message board.

I am using the Anker Soundcore Select Bluetooth speaker to stream radio at work via my Iphone. I have my iphone set to do not disturb. Yet the bluetooth speaker plays a ringing sound when a call comes in and if I ignore the call, the voice from the call also plays through the speaker.

The Your Phone Linging Ringtone, also known as the Yo Phone Linging Ringtone, refers to a ringtone of a man with a Chinese or Asian accent yelling at the phone's owner because their phone is ringing. While some perceived it as having racist connotations due to its association with Engrish, the ringtone trended in memes on TikTok in late 2023, where many users showed that they'd downloaded the ringtone and added it to their iPhones.

Sometime on or before November 19th, 2023, a TikToker named @the_bread_delivery_man posted a screen recording that seemingly showed the ringtone downloaded on their phone. The video has since been deleted. However, a stitch with it was posted by TikToker[2] @isme792amback on November 19th, gaining over 1,000 plays in two days (shown below, left). @the_bread_delivery_man's since-deleted video created a sound that was used by other TikTokers.[3] However, the sound has also been removed from the platform.

However there is an exception to this rule: iPhone WILL always ring for an incoming call if you customize the contact ringtone, regardless of silent mode or focus mode. To do that open the phone app > click a contact > click edit (upper right) > click ring tone or sms tone (right under email) > click "emergency exception" to turn ON.

My phone will not ring or vibrate when my boyfriend calls me but will when anyone else calls me. it used to ring when he called but then all of a sudden stopped. i have not changed any settings or even the ringtone for my boyfriends calls, so i dont understand what the issue is. all of my settings for volume, ringtone, vibration, etc are turned on.

That is pretty strange, bro0klynbridge. But you've come to the right place for answers. Checking the contact settings to make sure you don't have the calls set to go to voicemail for his contact as Ann154 mentioned is a good start. When you select his name in your contact list, press menu and look for the "All calls to voicemail" box. Your phone will still show a missed call but the call will almost immediately go into your voicemail if the box is checked. Also, try to edit his contact listing and select a different ringtone to ensure his line isn't set to the silent option or possibly a ringtone that's been removed from your phone.

Hey @kronkie. Could you try removing the Ring app from your phone, rebooting your phone and then reinstalling the Ring app? Once reinstalled, go into the app, sign in and refresh your notification preferences by allowing the notifications to come through. In addition, if you go into the Main Menu > Devices > Device Settings > Alert Settings > App Alert Tones and verify you have the tone set up there. After this, ding your Doorbell after closing the application and let me know if you hear it ring!

Another common ringtone issue is your phone accidentally being set in Airplane Mode. It's pretty easy not to realize your phone is in Airplane Mode for a short time as it will simply appear as if no one is calling you. If you're also having trouble accessing the internet when not on Wi-Fi, or you can't send or receive text messages, this is likely the issue. Here's how to turn Airplane Mode off.

Do Not Disturb is a phone feature you turn on expressly when you don't want it to ring. While you can set it on a timer, you can also toggle it on and leave it on until you're ready to turn it off manually. Naturally, this feature is another common culprit of user-related issues with phone ringtones.

To verify whether or not this is your issue and to turn the setting off, if it is, you'll have to look through your Android backgrounds, as well as the settings of any third-party communication apps on your phone. To check if it's enabled on your phone, follow these steps.

If you downloaded a third-party or purchased a ringtone to use on your phone and it isn't working, it could be a software glitch causing the sound to fail when someone calls you. Try switching to one of the phone's pre-set ringtones, and see if that solves your problem. Here's how you can access your default ringtones list.

If you've tried all of the previous troubleshooting options and nothing has fixed the issue, your phone not ringing may be more than a small glitch. Worst case scenario, malware has gotten into your system. Perform a system backup of your essential apps and information and do a factory reset to see if that fixes the issue.

When there is a phone call and if im using my earphones,i want the sound of the ringtone to go through the earphones. In this app setSpeakerphoneon() is not working, any other ideas to stream the ringing through earphones when a call comes?

Every single Android implementation I've seen routes ringtones to Speaker + wired headset/headphones if you've got a wired accessory attached. If you want the ringtone to be played only in the wired accessory you should be able to accomplish that with AudioManager.setRingerMode() (using RINGER_MODE_VIBRATE or RINGER_MODE_SILENT).

This might be undesirable for the user though, especially if there's no wired accessory attached or the user doesn't have the earplugs in his/her ears.

I go into Settings, then Connected Devices, then, next to the R-Phonak hearing aid is a Settings gear icon. When I tap on it, it shows 3 settings: Phone calls, Media Audio and Contact Sharing. I just switch off the Phone calls and then I can silence my phone. No more being disturbed by phone calls ringing in my aids.
