row 32: with right side facing rejoin main colour and begin knitting across first 4 stitches of heel shaping, pick up 5 stitches from inside edge of heel (see photo step 3), knit 11 stitches across main part of stocking, pick up 5 stitches from inside edge of 2nd heel half and knit final 4 stitches (29 stitches on needle) (see photo step 4)

Although this isn't a pattern, I thought I'd include it here as it might come in useful if you're designing your own patterns or making adaptive notes from others. Simply download the file and print out copies as needed.

If you'd like a larger flower then simply cast on 7 stitches and follow the same principle of working only on the centre 5 stitches for the first 6 rows and then decreasing by knitting 2 stitches together at both ends of the following rows until you have a single stitch again. Repeat for the desired number of petals.

When I saw this yarn (Landscapes from Lion Brand), it reminded me of the color of a velveteen rabbit, hence the name. ? Landscapes yarn actually has a wide variety of really nice self striping skeins, but I loved this solid color for this project. The hooded cowl is knit by holding two strands of yarn together for both the cowl/stole and the ears. The ears have a mind of their own in a way, kind of twisting and flopping in interesting ways. I think it adds to the character of the hat. ?

I seem to have missed where the thigh markers go . .which row? I am knitting a single colour so am also confused with page 4. . . left hind leg is that actually the thigh as shown in pix? can there be another cast on method for these rows as I am not familiar or as working in one colour am confused . . . sorry must be getting too old

Is the black otter Rex rabbit pictured in your post yours? If so I can tell the front legs have been adapted. Would you care to share what you did differently? And any other adaptions you made. I love love love the shape of the Ottter Rex pictured. I just finished my first and I should have spent more time shaping before I sewed her up! I will be using these tips next time!
