I am having the same issue here, and am tired of having to look through a library of 28,000 songs EVERY SINGLE TIME time to see if iTunes decided to not sync random songs (and I ALWAYS find some). While these workarounds do work, I do not have time to do scour my device every time I sync my music. Very disappointed that Apple has not found a way to fix this syncing glitch, despite multiple updates, none of which seem to address this issue.

I'll say it more clearly, random songs from different CD's are not syncing. For example, a couple of songs from a single CD won't sync, where as the whole CD is on itunes. The burned CD will have all tracks 1-11 & they all play on itunes, but on the iphone it's just a few out of the 11 that actually get transferred, I've tried so so many things to fix this! And, out of almost 4000 songs, It's only a couple hundred that don't transfer, & it's extremely random, not limited to one specific artist, but it's same tracks that don't transfer.

So when I play music on my iPhone, I later attach it to my Mac for charing and syncing. However, if I play 10 songs on a given day, it does not update the number of plays or the date and time the song was last played. Is there something I need to do on my phone, my Mac, or both so that the number of plays and last played both get updated after every period I play songs on my iPhone.

Just updated to iOS 17.2. I am still having this problem. I run and listen to music on my iPhone and/or watch, but in November it stopped updating my mac with play counts and dates. My iPhone and watch does pass along star ratings, and I can add/remove songs to playlists, but it still does not update my mac play counts and dates. Frustrating.

If I add a song or favorite a song (or playlist) on my iPhone, it doesn't update on my other Apple products like my Apple Tv's or iPads. I've got playlists on my iMac which update according to play count. For example, I'm currently on one called 'Under 3,' a list that has all the songs with play counts of 2 or less. It's so I go through all my music.

At the moment, itunes music doesn't seem to recognise that I'm using it on multiple devices. In the past, if I tried to play music on my iphone (for instance) while music was already playing on another device, I would get a warning message and music would stop playing on one of the devices.

It just seems to be the play counts that don't update properly to icloud from my iphone or ipod. Up to installing iOS 17, the play counts updated automatically at least once a day, usually after the first play on iphone/ipod. So far, neither the plays from iphone or ipod have synced for two days.

This is completely untrue. I am missing at least 6 albums I have purchased from iTunes. They aren't showing up on any of my devices but when I go back to them in the iTunes Store they're available to download. Something is seriously wrong. I have tried everything including re-seting iPhone, it seems that iTunes only wants me to add iTunes purchased music, well, I have a few old CDs that cannot be found there and i need them on my iphone.

I backed up my iPhone 5s to the Macbook Pro and cloud before picking up my new iPhone. Got home and connected it to iTunes to sync to the data on the backup. I have 4500 songs shown in my iTunes library and they are not transferring to the new phone. All 4500 are on the old iPhone 5s and on my iPad pro, but they won't sync to the 11 Pro. I'm using a single USB/Lightening cable directly between the two devices. I've rebooted each several times to eliminate any errors. All music is under the same Apple ID.

I purchased iPhone 11 Pro today. Not able to synch with my music directly from my Mac. I've 'trusted' the computer, and updated to latest OS and iOS but nothing is transferring. This was from a 7 but the music lib is on the Mac.

Turn sync Library also was not an option - reading some of the other threads i changed the cable - this came in a pack supplied by Telstra when purchasing the iPhone11 Pro called Premium Silver Gala Universal Wireless Essentials - this included a USB to Lightning connector. Changed to this cable and all ok - all my music library copied access to the phone - result!

After doing some Googling and trying to fix this issue for a while, I found a solution that may be helpful. I also did not have the option to toggle off the sync music library option, nor does my old MacBook have the port for the iPhone 11 charger.

Hello everyone! I think I may have found a solution, go to EQ in your settings, and just toggle it on and off and then leave it OFF (I switched from off to Late Night then back to off). After this my music began to work again, I hope it works for the rest of you!

The carplay crashes with spotify too, it crashes with apple music, google maps, apple maps, basically it crashes with just about anything. it was hit and miss with the iphone 11 where it would crash after receiving a cellular call, not an internet based call.
