I have a 32 GB ipod touch with plenty of space on it still, but when I sync it to iTunes, any music I've recently added will not download to the iPod. It was working fine until a month ago, but now even though the new songs are visible on iTunes in the "On this iPod page" but they show up as not downloaded. I've run a diagnostic test on my iPod but it said everything was working fine. Is there a way to fix this? I have purchased and downloaded music from cds and all of a sudden I can't add them to the library on my device.

I also tried manually syncing the iPod instead of automatically syncing it, but I have the same problem. iTunes says all my music is synced, but the "On this iPod" library shows the songs as not downloaded (they're listed there but with the "downloading" symbol), and they do not appear on the iPod when I look for them.

The iPod was once synced to another computer, but I have had it for over a year now, and it never had a problem until last month loading new music. ITunes sees the iPod, and it automatically syncs like ususal. The new songs show up in the "On this iPod" library, but they show up as not downloaded. However, when I check for new downloads in the iTunes store on my iPod, nothing is listed. And this happened with the last CD I tried to load on as well. The songs do not sync to the iPod, but iTunes says all my music is synced.

I ended up completely resetting the Ipod. I did not restore it from a back up but set it up as a new device. Then I manually added my music library from iTunes. It is working now. I just bought new songs and they synced just fine with my device. I hope the problem is solved! Thanks for your suggestions to fix it, I appreciate it!

Show your iTunes music library using the Songs view (to show a plain list with columns). If the column for iCloud Download is hidden, make it visible (right-click the heading row of song list to show/hide columns). The iCloud Download column is narrow, with a cloud symbol in the heading. Find the song that does not sync to the iPod. If you see a cloud with down-arrow symbol in the iCloud Download column for this song, it is being accessed from iCloud. Click the cloud symbol for the song to download it.

You should be able to download the music you purchased and import them to your iPod Shuffle. Apple Music typically merges purchased and Apple Music catalog together; so you'll want to download the non-subscription (Apple Music) album.

Open iTunes on iPod (Take iPod Nano for example) - tap the "music" button at the bottom of interface - use your finger to scroll down on the page until you come across a button labeled as "single of the week". Click this button to open the page for that single (the single of the week is always free and a new single is offered each week) - tap the free button to download the song. Then you can find the free music you choose before has been downloaded on your iPod.

You may want to choose more free music which you like deeply and then download them to iPod, how to get more free music on iPod with more methods, we will provide you other solutions to think over below:

Okay, so my iPod won't download any music from the iTunes library on my laptop. In fact, it won't download music from my music folder on my laptop either. It doesn't download podcasts either. My iPod will show up as being connected to iTunes, but when I drag a song to my iPod, it won't highlight blue like it normally would. I think the problem is the iPod itself but, I'm not sure. Please help, and I will try to clarify any further questions.

Anyways, when I try to transfer music onto my iPod, it just doesn't for some reason. I click on the arrow that appears when you highlight a song, select "Add To", and press "iPod" under my devices, but nothing will happen.

Hey 1saMarie, Did it ever work with this laptop? Are you working with a Mac or a PC? which OS are running and what version of iTunes do you have? What method are using to get the music transferred to your computer then iPod? (are you connecting with the cable, Wi-Fi or the cloud) And did this start after you upgraded to iOS 7.1.2?

Have you tried resetting your iPod? Settings>General>Reset, then tap Reset All Settings. Assuming this iPod has been linked to this laptop... If your using the cable, do you have another cable to try, your's may have developed a short. If your iTunes is an older version try updating it. If it's a windows (PC) you may need to un-install your iTunes then re-install to the latest version, you may need to turn off your firewalls to install the current version of iTunes, if it's a PC. Just make sure you have backups of your music, videos, etc. before you start un-installing / re-installing. Without more information this is all I know to do. Others will most likely have more for you. Good luck. Cheers.

Yes, my iPod has worked with this laptop. I'm working with a PC. I don't understand what you mean when you're asking about the running OS. I have the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (11.3 I believe it is for Windows?). I transfer music to my iPod through a cable. I get music onto my iTunes library through purchasing music from the iTunes store and/or moving files from My Music folder (on my laptop) to my iTunes library. It has been a while since I connected my iPod to this laptop, so I can't be sure if this started because I updated to iOS 7.1.2. I hope none of my answers confused you.

Spotify is really pissing me off. This is been posted dozens of times and nobody has an answer. Seems like a pretty basic function and it has been defunct for a long time. I bet a lot of people have moved over to Apple music for this issue alone.

Nothing in the support article posted in a reply works, and what's more NOW on my computer the local files keep automatically disappearing when I unselect "Download" at the top of the playlist only containing local music files. It's actually somehow getting worse.

Ever since the apple music update I've been unable to add or remove music from my ipod touch 5 via itunes on my computer. Everywhere I've looked says you go to the ipod icon, go into summary and click "manually manage music and videos" but mine only shows the option to "manually manage videos". I would like to be able to delete all of the music off of my ipod and start fresh because it somehow duplicated my entire playlist and is taking up double the amount of space it should. Currently the only way I've found to do that is to individually go through and delete each of the 2000 songs twice, and that's a huge waste of time, so any help would be appreciated!

You could delete the duplicate playlist from the iPod, but the actually music files shouldn't be duplicated anyway. Nevertheless, if you would like to delete all stored music (not including what's in the cloud), you can (on your iPod) navigate to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage (For Device Storage, not iCloud) > Music > Edit and tap delete next to "All Songs".

Is your head really wedged that far into the dark that you use the same reply to different questions? Where is a version of Pandora that will run on my ipad? It doesn't have to be the latest features as I'm just paying to listen to music. Or am I to believe that you don't care about your customers and that you are really just a bunch of scam artists, leeches, and idiots. Please don't patronize customers with canned responses. I will respect you more if you just say "I don't know" than the three responses you gave on this thread. Earn your paycheck and don't expect a free ride.

Transferring music files from a computer to an Apple iPod is extremely easy because the iTunes software application automates the process for you. This frees up your time to search the web for some great free tunes to add to your iPod playlists.

These sites offer large and varied collections of iPod-ready music for you to download, and all of them are legal to use. iPods support only AAC, MP3, WAV and AIFF music formats, so make sure that you're downloading the right format for your device.

The Free Music Archive is an iPod-safe online music library containing 45,000 songs that may be streamed or downloaded under the Creative Commons license. The site came about in 2006 courtesy of a grant from the New York State Music Fund, designed to make contemporary music more available to residents of New York. The Free Music Archive hosts only music from relatively unknown, independent artists.

The Audio Archive contains more than just user-generated music downloads; it also includes interviews, live music recordings, public news and even non-English collections from around the world. You can also stream live concerts, as well as some of the latest Arabic hit songs. Also note that though the founders of Audio Archive make every attempt to remove copyrighted content from the site, there is no guarantee that every single downloadable song has been checked for copyright infringement.

While free music sites abound online, it's easy to stumble across those that are offering illegal downloads. Usually current and popular music is only available for purchase, so if you find a site that offers today's top hits for free you're likely headed into murky legal territory. Remember that downloading copyrighted music without permission is illegal, so pick and choose your download sites carefully. Check the terms and conditions of each site, and if they don't address the legal issue and guarantee that their offerings are safe, move along to a different source that does.

Even if you can't get the latest hits or mainstream chart-toppers for free, finding great music at no cost will give you loads of tracks to enjoy on your iPod. Discover new artists and genres, share your finds with your friends, and save some money in the process.

I've found a lot on the web about being able to manage your iPod through Ubuntu. Is it possible to take songs off the ipod onto disk in a usable form, as my song drive has crashed1 and that's the only back up I have. 0852c4b9a8
