First FYI, I heard an adorable puppy will be kicked somewhere in the world for every reply from someone just to say they don't use the new listing tool, hate the new listing tool, etc. I don't know if it's true but just thought I should say it's a possibility.
I gave the video feature a try with 3 listings quite a while back, like closer to when the NLT first rolled out, and yes I hated the rest of the experience so much I immediately switched back to classic. But I believe I recall a thing saying it could take up to ___ (24?) hours for the video to be viewable. Those 3 actually took only 15-30 minutes each, and the rest of the listing was still viewable in the meantime, then when the videos were done processing, they were the 2nd photo for each listing. Great!
But I used it again last night (close to 20 hours ago) and no video yet. Also there's nothing showing that a video is pending, like in any columns of the Active Listings page, nor at the top of the listing itself (where it offers 'revise, sell similar' and shows useful info for the seller). I even opened the Revise view to see if the video was there, but it wasn't, just the photos and the rest of the photo boxes were blank. That was not encouraging, so I tried one more thing; switch to New again, just to see that version of Revise, and VOILA, there's the video's icon and text on it that says 'Under Review.' So hopefully at some point I'll get joy.
But does anyone know any of these things: What exactly is the review process, like is it waiting for a real human to look at it and make sure it's not something naughty? What happens if the 24 (or however many) hours run out; will it stay in the cueue or just time-out/reject? If there's something technical about it that makes it unplayable, do you get a notice, and if so can you fix it without taking the listing down and starting over? I believe I saw where someone said the new listing tool doesn't let you do 'Sell similar' with all the IS's filled out; you have to do all of them one-by-one with the page flipping back and forth and all that, so I really hope it doesn't come to that with this item.
LOL, I've gotten a lot of help in this Community, but I can't recall ever getting such purely pertinent replies ever before. Did the puppy thing really work? I bet I would have pressed my luck if I also mentioned auctions in the primary post. Like yeah puppies may be powerful but the self-righteousness in some non-auction-doers is a mighty force indeed.
If I could do the delete/replace thing I totally would, and I wouldn't even wait 48 hours (why keep waiting, when this attempt might be stuck for no real reason and the next one could succeed fast?). But unfortunately it's a no-go, see screenshot. And from what dhbookds says, this pending video won't just delete itself for any reason. Actually if you're right about the 'up to 7 days' thing, it's the same as never deleting, because this auction is 7 days!
Thank you for the 'draft' tip--that is super useful to know! So, am I right in thinking there's no demerit for just killing an auction? If so I think I'll do it on this one, and redo it using the draft method you suggested. Not only do I think it would fetch this item higher bids, but I bought a turntable just for items like this, put some real effort into lighting, background, etc., not to mention the absurd p.i.t.a. that creating a listing in the new tool involves, so doing all that for nothing would really suck. Ugh but that reminds me, if I end this auction, I don't know if the rumor I heard is true about 'Sell similar' not populating the item specifics in the new listing tool. Well guess I may have to find out!
