The spectacular imagery and many unsolved mysteries of outer space have engaged the imagination of many generations, and inspired the creation of these space screensavers. They range from artistic interpretations and slideshows of actual images captured by telescopes and satellites to realistic 3D simulations of planetary movements.

Like some of Ventura's wallpapers, these new screensaver/wallpaper videos are downloaded on first use to save disk space. If you don't want to use them, regular wallpapers and screensavers in Sonoma work like they used to but with a more graceful transition to and from screensavers. Transitioning into a screen saver, your apps recede, and the screen either fades to black (for pre-Sonoma screen savers) or dissolves to the screen saver video. When you come out of a screen saver, there's a dissolve transition back to your desktop as your apps pop back in. It doesn't really add functionality, but it looks clean and attractive.

Or does it? Turns out Apple is using purgeable storage to "prevent" these screen savers from taking away from your usable disk space. The Finder is happy to keep purgeable files on disk for as long as there's space for them, but the OS begins silently deleting things as your drive fills up; the OS also generally treats iCloud files this way, clearing them from disk because it knows the files are still available in the cloud.

As the drive filled, macOS deleted more and more screen savers, though the disk space reported by Disk Utility and Finder never agreed again until the volume was within a few gigabytes of being full. Functionally, the Finder's reported amount of free space is the "canonical" one that determines how much you can copy to the drive, but it's not a true measure of actual free space.

Part of me thinks this solution is a clever way to offer a ton of screen savers without actually making the user "pay" for the amount of disk space the video takes up. I suspect the average user won't download more than a few, but even a half dozen of them can take up 5 or 6GB of space, which is a lot for an older Mac that only shipped with a 128GB SSD. Having the system purge these transparently in the background frees people from needing to think about it.

On the other hand, I still don't love that the free space reported by the Finder is less-than-totally-accurate. There are performance and durability implications for SSDs if you're using a nearly full one, since the small number of flash memory cells marked as "free" get written and rewritten over and over again. There's a difference between having 10GB of free space and 60GB of free space, and with the current behavior, you could be using a mostly full drive while believing that you have plenty of room to spare.

Your Aerial screen saver clips are treated as cache data that can be deleted at any point when the system needs the space for something more important. The number of clips that the system downloads, depends on the free space that you have.

I have this same issue. I find that when it happens the only way i can close space engineers is under task manager. The game no longer has a button on task bar and is not in the top portion of the task manager for running programs. Itstead I find it well down the list in the "Processes" section. When this happens, Alt-Tab will not even recognize the game as running (since it has been converted to a process instead of a program running).

I do run windows 10 but I have disabled the ability for the system to go to sleep. I current let it turn the screen off after one hour. It seems to be tied to the game losing primary focus. I will try and reproduce this later when at my home computer but its very rare. Last time I remember it happening I had left the game running and had to step away. About an hour to hour and a half later when I returned i moved the mouse to turn the monitor back on and there was a white box in covering about 1/3 of my screen while the space engineers music was still playing and there was no way to get to space engineers and continue playing. Steam said the game was running and in task manager, space engineers was no longer listed as a running application but instead as a background process with no option other than ending the process.

I entered a vanilla unmodded worlds and played around for a few minutes (5 to 10 minutes). I then turned off my monitor. After about 10 seconds or so the game sound changed volume, so I turned my monitor back on. When it began to display a picture again, I saw that the game had white screened on me and i had to shut the game down via the task manager. I have attached a screen shot with task manager showing space engineers running (its in the background processes portion of task manager) and the task bar at the bottom of the screen has no block for space engineers which is the white screen behind the task manager. Also attached are both game logs from this session.

All wall-papers and screensavers are designed by me and they are free for private use. I share them for free because I love space, and I hope you do as well. If you want access to all future wall-papers and not only the free wall-papers (or if you want just support my work), then you can become a Patreon-support.

I have an EditText at the bottom of the screen and when user clicks on it a keyboard pops up ,resizing the entire view to show the EditText above keyboard, which is as it should be. But if user doesn't do anything for sometime, phone sleeps and screen gets locked with the keyboard still present in the screen. When phone comes back after sleep, the keyboard seems to hide itself, leaving my views in a resized state. A blank space is shown where the keyboard has been present..I would be happy if

Here it is in its simple glory. A brute force approach that yields a maze of individual pipelines that will completely fill any give space (read: volume) that you throw at it. Have fun and leave some feedback!

A Canadian school board, trying to deal with a string of large-scale funding cutbacks has started testing a new funding model: selling ad space on classroom computers. Companies like McDonalds, Pepsi, and Trident have signed on to a screensaver advertising program that mixes educational messages, motivational words, and slick corporate advertising.

Six Expedition 54 crew members will spend Christmas orbiting Earth sharing a traditional meal and opening goodies delivered on recent cargo missions to the International Space Station. Veteran crew member Anton Shkaplerov of Roscosmos is spending his third holiday season in space.

Meanwhile, advanced space science is taking place seven days a week on the orbital lab as the astronauts explore a variety of phenomena that can only be revealed in the microgravity environment. Human research is especially important as doctors learn how to keep space travelers healthy and strong during spaceflight. 0852c4b9a8
