Remotes are not sold on Samsung.com; they are instead available on our parts website, samsungparts.com. There are many models of remotes (all with slight variations), but you can find the exact remote your TV/projector came with by searching for your model number and then scrolling through the list until you see the remote.

Remotes can vary in price for different models; however, our IR remotes work with all of our TVs and projectors. In other words, you can pick any IR remote you like and it will work, even if your model isn't listed as compatible with that remote.

Because of this, we recommend BN59-01301A as a replacement remote. This is one of the newer and cheaper models (around 15 dollars on samsungparts.com) and offers basic functionality, if that's all you need.

Most universal remotes will work with your Samsung TV or projector as well, such as those found on Amazon or possibly even the remote that was included with your cable or satellite box. If you buy a universal remote, make sure the remote says it is compatible with Samsung before you buy it.

If you've lost your remote or haven't set this up yet, your Samsung TV or projector will ask permission for your Galaxy phone to connect. You can then use the TV Controller button (sometimes called a jog controller) on the back of your TV to grant the permission. Please see your user manual for specific instructions if you're unsure.

The Samsung SmartThings app lets you control your TV or projector no matter where you are. Just connect your phone, navigate to SmartThings, and then select your device from the list of available devices. From there, you can use the remote control features.

There are also many third-party remote control apps available from the Google Play and iTunes stores. Peel and SURE are are two popular options, and they're both available for Android and iOS.

Do you have an older Samsung TV at home? Did you know that you can use the remote from ANY Samsung TV to perform at least a few functions. Even if the remote you are missing is a Smart Remote, an older IR remote from a Samsung TV should be able perform most of the following functions:

Universal remotes are generally used to control multiple devices and will work on most major TVs and home electronics. You can buy a universal remote to control your Samsung TV or projector, though you may already own one if you have a cable or satellite set top box, Roku player, Fire TV, or a game console remote.

The universal remote needs to be programmed to control your Samsung device with a code. Most of the time these codes are preprogrammed, but if the remote is not working, you'll need to obtain additional codes for Samsung from the remote's manufacturer.

Even if you don't currently have a remote, you can turn on the TV, adjust the volume, change the channel, and more right on the TV itself. TVs from 2019 and later use a single button that, when pressed, displays on the TV screen and cycles through the available functions each time you press it. To use a function, press and hold the button.

Some older models will have either several buttons on the right side of the TV or a joystick-like button on the lower right back of the TV. Refer to your TV's user manual to check the location and type of controls.

Not ready to throw the old one out just yet? Think it still has some life left in it? If you still have your remote but it's not working, see our troubleshooting guide for steps to get it working again.

Hi, interestingly I can see this user interface of control (screenshot in first posting) only in very rare moments. Most of the time there are 4 different screens available (4D-Pad, CH, 123, Options) which are inefficient.

1 Considering most TVs are used for seven years and an AA battery for their remote controls are replaced once in a year, the number of discarded batteries for a TV will be 14 every seven years. This means charging and using SolarCell Remote for seven years reduces carbon emissions by one third compared to using AA batteries.

Hi there - I've done some googling and I can't seem to find a clear/direct answer. I have a 2020 samsung frame and an apple tv 4k. I haven't gotten a straight answer on how I can control the volume of the samsung frame, via HDMI, from the iOS software based apple tv remote, using the iPhone rocker buttons.

When I wake the Apple TV, using the iOS based remote, the Volume Control settings do switch to "Auto via HDMI", however when I use the rocker buttons on the iPhone with the remote on the screen, it doesn't seem to work. When waking the Apple TV with the hardware remote, Volume Control get's set to "Auto via IR", which obviously works.

I've chatted with Samsung, and they haven't been helpful, and there's nothing in their docs that say whether Anynet+ (Samsung's HDMI-CEC support) supports controlling the volume from an externally connected device over HDMI. All Samsung has said is that they think it's supported as long as the external device supports it.

Apple is also not super clear on what they support in terms of volume control via HDMI. I thought I read somewhere that maybe it's only supported through AV receivers. But my guess would be the Samsung TV doesn't explicitly support it.

There is an open source project of SamyGo, and it works perfect. I am using it on my android phone and with the help of that project source, I created a little remote control with c#. You can always check their offical forum link for latest news.

I have installed Quick Support and samsung add-on, but I cannot use my mouse with the tablet. I can 'remote connect' to the tablet and use arrows on my laptop keyboard to control the device, but nothing happens when I click and/or hold.

So currently at work our GM had us put Remotes down in the breakroom for the customers at our store. We have 5 Smart TV Samsungs hung up on the wall in the breakroom and each tv has a remote stationed near it that the guests can change the channel if they so pleased. Though I don't agree on letting people change the channel to any show they want, that is aside from the point.

Currently the problem we are having is that the TV's are too close to eachother, so if someone uses the remote on one TV, it will change the channel of the TV next to it and vice versa. Since these are all the same Samsung TV's the Samsung Remotes that come with the TV work for all the TVs. I am looking for a solution for this problem, whether it be a function in the smart TV's that allows me to program the remote to certain MAC Addresses or if there is an easier solution I'd take that as well.

Yeah with infrared there's really not going to be a way around this. You could identify the receiving lens on the TV and place blinders around it so you have to put the remote really close to it to change the channel, that would be the poor man's way to do it. Alternatively, some TVs have serial interfaces for control, you may be able to control them if they have an RS232 connection, but this would definitely require a 3rd party piece of hardware.

You could experiment with a matt black tube wrapped around the front of the remote control so that the IR beam is not as wide and maybe will not interfere with the other TVs. That tube could be the width of the remote or a thinner tube in front of the LED. You should also look at nearby reflecting surfaces because the IR beam can bounce of these to the TV - maybe remove them or change their colour/texture.

Using your Fios remote, you can program, replace your remote, or fix Fios TV issues, following the steps below:

Our users frequently ask us for a great free remote control app for Samsung Smart TVs that could serve as a replacement for yet another blocky piece of plastic. We recommend ControlMeister for Samsung TV.

ControlMeister universal remote app for Samsung Smart TVs offers full remote functionality. Easily control your channels, volume, menus, Samsung apps and navigation. The best news of all is that you can download the app completely for free on the iTunes App Store!

On the other hand, what about the iPhone? When you were looking for your remote in the depths of your sofa, spilling your drink on it, then watching your dog devour it, your smartphone was in your pocket all along!

A Lifetime plan means you will have indefinite access to the Pro version of ControlMeister. That pretty much means owning a remote replacement to any Samsung TV for as long as Samsung keeps on making TVs and Apple keeps keeps on making iPhones.

One way to bypass that is to use the power button on your TV. Most models will have it somewhere in the back. So, turning your Samsung TV is absolutely doable whether remote, or remote replacement-less, but it will require you to do a little legwork. By that we mean literally getting up, walking up to your TV and pressing the button. ff782bc1db
