Hello, I am learning NWConnection and I have studied the TicTacToe app example.I am learning by creating my own app. I am trying to create a remote mouse app (the mouse/keyboard input from iPhone) over WiFi to control my Mac.

On the receiving end, my Macbook receives the Data and successfully parses each of the messages and then moves the mouse using Quartz Display Services API.I implemented my own NWFramerImplementation and I can parse the message easily since I know the length of my payload data is always the same.

I get consistent smooth mouse movement when testing it on my iPad everytime, but when I use my iPhone it is horrible and there is a lot of lag/latency. I've tried using UDP on the connection and it's still the same. I turn off the data and bluetooth on my iPhone and it doesnt help

I found a way to only send the current drag velocity in send.connection() by using the NWConnection.SendCompletion.contentProcessed handler but it still hasn't improved my latency issue on my iPhone. The mouse doesnt move that smoothly compared to when I run it on my iPad.

We recently upgraded to the software version shown above in order to attempt to resolve the problem. I was able to remotely control the mouse and keyboard when connected to a test PC; however, when I remoted into the PC of an internal customer who needed troubleshooting assistance, I had no mouse or keyboard control.

Upgrading to a newer version of Remote Support resolved the remote mouse and keyboard access; however, then the Remote Support application started on its own every time I logged onto the PC, either remotely or via VPN.

I have a Siri Remote 2nd Generation. I have tested the touchpad on the remote with my Apple TV and verified that it works. I am able to connect the Siri Remote 2nd Generation to my computer and I am able to assign actions to all the various triggers. I can assign the Mouse Control toggle to any trigger, but when I toggle Mouse Control mode, all my buttons become disabled and my touchpad never registers any movement or moves the mouse.

I have two other computers that are much older and can only run up to MacOS 12. Based on YouTube videos I've seen, mouse control has worked on previous MacOS versions in the past, but I understand if it's a headache to keep mouse control working for every new version plus all the old versions it has previously worked on.

One other question: can BetterTouchTool handle two 2nd or 3rd generation Siri Remotes simultaneously? In other words, if I have two Siri Remotes connected to the Mac Mini at the same time, will a press of any given button on either remote trigger the same action? Or can BetterTouchTool only handle one Siri Remote at a time?

Remote Mouse turns your mobile device or smartphone into a user-friendly wireless remote control, keyboard, and touchpad for your computer. Remote Mouse is available for iPhone/iPod, iPad, Android and Windows phones with a companion computer server software for Mac and PC. Simply install both apps and you'll quickly be controlling your computer completely using your mobile device.

Once you have both the server app and mobile app downloaded, simply connect your mobile device and computer to the same WiFi network to use the remote mouse and keyboard. Alternatively, you can also connect both terminals using a QR code or through the IP address. In either case, the process only takes one or two minutes.

All of the functions are fully customizable via the settings menu, including left-hand mode, so you can set up your Remote Mouse to work in a way that's comfortable for you. The remote keyboard simulates the keyboard set up on your mobile device, allowing for word processing on your PC directly from your phone.

There are also paid-for specialty control panels that help you perform specific operations more quickly. The media panel, for example, is used for playing movies or giving presentations. The web remote supports common browser commands, while the shortcuts and landscapes add-on supports the keyboard shortcuts of Mac and Windows, as well as allows the app to be used in both portrait and landscape orientation.

Remote Mouse is especially helpful for users who find sitting in a chair for long periods of time uncomfortable, offering the flexibility to create an environment that works for you. Equally, people who find gripping a mouse difficult might find using a tablet or smartphone easier, although prolonged use might be tiring for the hand.

Using Remote Mouse is a simple and straightforward way to turn your smartphone or mobile device into a mouse and keyboard for your computer. Optional upgrades enhance the app's capabilities.

Admittedly, using the app as a mouse does take a bit of getting used to and it can be especially tricky executing fine movements such as clicking on 'x' to close a window. The apps work quickly together, however, meaning there's very little discernible delay between remote mouse and computer.

Ok, so TV updated itself recently, and the remote menus are completely different. I could live with this, but the remote mouse only partially works. I cannot move or drag anything. Right-clicking works, so I'm able to CUT and PASTE files to copy or move them, but otherwise functionality is very low. Searched all over for associated settings for a fix, but nada.

I partially understand VNC in that I know, by default, you can only see when desktop itself and the client's mouse is shown. But, I was wondering if there is a different technology out there that allows a remote mouse to be seen or if I can hack together something else in order for that remote mouse to be seen.

That would depend entirely on the VPN client being utilized. Typically, the mouse pointer's graphical position is only updated when a "click" event is sent by the client, because graphical updates in most VNC clients are not being "live streamed."

It is usable but, the mouse pointer (using desktop mouse) does not appear in 'extend' mode. The mouse traverses multiple monitors and, in the iPad, I can see hover animations but, the cursor itself is not rendering.

On iPad, using the Microsoft Remote Desktop app. I am using Ubuntu 23.10 with Wayland (does not work in X11). The mouse pointer does not appear on the iPad. I can use the iPad mouse pointer and, it response naturally to touch events in touch mode (the caveats in the article are out-of-date) but, the remote cursor (desktop mouse pointer) does not appear. Some remote desktop software has showing or hiding the cursor as a feature.

On thing is actually a little bit irritating: The mouse cursor is un-proportionally big on shared screens and i did not find any setting to adjust this misbehavior. Actually the mouse pointer is sometimes 3 times bigger than the original pointer (regarding the screen resolution e.g. an retina displays from iMacs) on the screen, which one can see while quickly moving the mouse or sometimes when right clicking on the shared screen. I did not find a way to disable the second mouse pointer, which is only hidden, although i turned of the option in the settings, the second mouse pointer did not turn off on 3 different macs.

2. The bigger the difference between server side screen resolution and client side screen resolution, the bigger is the mousepointer size difference. The biggest mouse pointer occurs with a session from normal display (Mac Pro not Mac book Pro!) to retina displays like current iMacs.

3. So i tried to change the node.cfg but there is no influence to this issue with the size on iMac, there is only the oversized cursor left so at least the second mouse pointer is gone there. But on MacMini there is still a second mouse cursor visible.

The well praise of TOUCH Keyboard gave us great inspiration, why not design a PBT wireless mouse with the same material coupled to TOUCH Keyboard? And wouldn't it be perfect if the buttons on this mouse could be changed at will?

LOFREE passes on the dye-sub pbt's and replaceable keycap set's concept of TOUCH keyboard to this wireless mouse. PBT, the non-glossy, non-sticky and skin-friendly texture, is carefully used on MB1, MB2 and upper case, ensuring a reliable grip and smooth ergonomics.

The mouse does not register any movement after the computer wakes up (Macbook Pro M1). You have to actually click to wake the mouse. Annoyingly, the click registerer so if the mouse cursor is over a button, that button will be clicked. Hope my description makes sense. other than that, the mouse feels good but is unusable at the lower dpi settings. You need to go to at least 3600 dpi for it to become usable.

Meta Quest 3 owner here. I"m trying "Remote Display (Beta)" app, able to connect to my computer and see the screen - but - there's no interaction. Is this by design? The only thing which happens if I point a controller at remote display window is some darkening at the bottom and 2 buttons - disconnect and and resolution multiplier (not even sure what this does, nothing seems to change).

I'm pretty sure the intent is to pair a BT keyboard to your headset and use it like that. And of course you could use your actual PC's mouse/KB. Is a bit weird they don't give you virtual controls though.

Thanks for reaching back! Since the app is still in the beta stage, there's really no telling what direction it could take. If it's meant to be a virtual display for your PC I'd suggest checking if it works with the keyboard and mouse connected to your PC as @Lujho mentioned.

Something else I would recommend is potentially posting this over to our ideas board. This way our team can get a look personally at what the community would love to see added. Lastly if it's not working through your normal keyboard and mouse controls, you can throw in a bug report for them to have the right information. ff782bc1db
