My work doesn't allow VPN connections from Android devices. I am running Termux proot and Ubuntu distro. I build openconnect from source and using vn protocol (pulse) and an host checker python I am able to authenticate and get an IP address. What fails is the tunnel setup as don't have permissions to access /dev/tun.

I have a centos 7.6 vps as server with public ip address.

Also i have an android phone + windows 7 os as clients with wireless internet.

I installed OpenConnect (ocserv) on server machine & config it in the right way.

I followed these commands to install openconnect on server machine :

I didn't do anything about certificate & all of related parts are default.

I installed openconnect gui from here on windows os client machine & it connects to the openconnect server successfully with no errors & i can surf the internet using with that very well.

Now i installed openconnect android from here on client android phone.

But it works & i can surf the internet on android phone (vpn connected).

openconnect client works fine(all of supported os) but for cisco anyconnect it only works on v4.6 but for later versions, anyconnect client can't reach server ("Connection attempt has timed out. Please verify Internet connectivity" as log says). Since downgrading app version is not available on ios devices I need to somehow config the server to be compatible with cisco anyconnect client v5. what the difference between 4.6 and later versions. do 4.6+ version clients need some specific parameters on ocserver?

I have exactly the same problem. I configured Debian 11 with ocserv and I can connect with the latest versions of OpenConnect client on windows 10 and android very well. Also, I can connect with Cisco AnyConnect 4.8 Android, but I cannot connect from Cisco AnyConnect v5 on Android and IOS and v4.10 on Windows 10.

yes this seems very strange to as well, linux are an important part of many back bone and end users OS systems (i have been told that PA is built on centos linux distr for example) and there are estimates ranging between 25 and 50 mil linux users worldwide. For android I have seens estimates ranging from 40 - 60% of the global smartphone market, wich is double the number of iphone users, yet there is a iphone client from PA.

yes I have also found anothwer app vpncilla that connects fine, and I think it is sad that their android client is restricted to portal license users, a lot of users, like my company uses global protect, witout having or need ing the rather expensive portal license.
