Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) is an online gaming network and subscription service acting similar to Sony's PlayStation Network and PlayStation Plus and Microsoft's Xbox network and Xbox Game Pass that grants players online play for compatible Nintendo Switch games, which launched on September 18, 2018 in North America,[1] and on September 19, 2018 in Japan, Europe, and Oceania,[2][3][4] following a "free trial" period where Nintendo offered online services free of charge from the launch of the Nintendo Switch. It is the third online network service created by Nintendo, after Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (which launched during the release of Mario Kart DS in 2005) and Nintendo Network (which launched on January 26, 2012). To use the service, players must pay a subscription fee for a plan lasting in increments of one month, three months, or 12 months. A week long trial period is available to use, after which payment will automatically begin renewing for the specified plan unless auto-renewal is turned off. Hi, I'm trying to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch online, I bought this so I could play my daughter as she lives away from me. When I try to play online it can't connect to other consoles due to a NAT issue, I usually get NAT D or C, however I do very occasionally manage to play an online game. I'm using a Tplink router TL-MR6400 with a mobile data sim card, it seems to work more often during the day or early morning but only sometimes (very rarely) it seems impossible to play in the evening, I don't know if this is relevant or not. Am I able to get a open NAT or change settings on my router, I've tried port forwarding, DMZ but to no avail. Hopefully someon can help. Thanks and kind regards Colin

Once in Global Games, you have the choice to start a normal Mario Party game or go to Mt. Minigames to play one of those modes online. If you choose the regular Mario Party game, you can then customize what type of match you want to find. You can select which maps you want to play, as well as the rules.
If you go to Mt. Minigames, you can pick any of the normal modes here, with the exception of Free Play, including Tag Match, Trio Challenge, Coin Battle, Sports, and Puzzles, plus two online exclusive modes called Survival and Daily Challenge. Tag Match is a 2-on-2 game, Trio Challenge is 1 versus 3, Coin Battle is a game where whoever can collect the most coins wins, and Sports and Puzzles limit the mini-game types to sports and puzzle types using Score Attack rules.
