After 25+ years of helping people use and experience the web, Internet Explorer (IE) is officially retired and out of support as of today, June 15, 2022. To many millions of you, thank you for using Internet Explorer as your gateway to the internet.

Additionally, Microsoft Edge shipped with the "Internet Explorer mode" feature, which enables support for legacy internet applications. This is possible through use of the Trident MSHTML engine, the rendering code of Internet Explorer.[47][48] Microsoft has committed to supporting Internet Explorer mode at least through 2029, with a one-year notice before it is discontinued.[49]

Manage Add-ons in Internet Explorer lets you view, turn on, and turn off the list of add-ons that can be loaded by Internet Explorer. Add-ons you can manage include browser helper objects, ActiveX controls, toolbar extensions, explorer bars, browser extensions, search providers, Accelerators, and Tracking Protection settings.

The automatic message that displays when you try to access canvas via explorer says that explorer is no longer supported. I wonder if it would be possible to add extra information pointing users to launch a different browser. We have found out users are sometimes just perplexed by this note and think Canvas is just not working anywhere. Canvas is usually so good at communicating with its users. Could you not get one of your communication experts to write a more user-friendly message please?

We have desktop shortcuts on end user PCs that access an internal site. When users click on the shortcut, an instance of internet explorer opens and the page stays blank, and in task manager reports internet explorer as not responding. Only when accessing this site through the desktop shortcut does this happen. When we shut off the sandblast threat extraction and emulation blade, we no longer see this issue. I believe it has to do with the checkpoint.sandblast add-on. When users open up an instance of internet explorer and navigate to the web page it works just fine. The only hold up is the desktop shortcut that leads directly to the site. Has anyone else experienced this? We have tried whitelisting all kinds of ways and shutting off pieces of threat extraction and emulation and it does not make a difference. We have to turn off the entire blade to get the shortcut to function properly. A chrome desktop shortcut for the same site works fine as well, but management does not want this to be used. Any advise?

Stacy, honestly a lot of our issues with IE were resolved once we updated to 80.92. Also make sure your IE settings include: internet options> Advanced tab> uncheck the box next to "enable 64-bit processes for Enhanced protected mode". That helped with the IE lockup issues we saw as well. Hope this helps!

I bring this up as I purchased a new PC with Windows 11 and installed Civil 3D 2022 on it. I also have a laptop that I upgraded and regardless of this. We've known for well over 1 year now that this was coming from Windows. So they do NOT install Internet Explorer when you upgrade or get a new Windows 11 box. There are features within Civil 3D 2022 such as Volumes Dashboard that use Internet Explorer to read the XML that is created when you select to create a Cut/Fill report. There are also Toolbox features that do a similar process, run the Executable and Civil 3D access Internet explorer to read the XML file. Now we've been told for at least 5 years that IE (Internet Explorer) is going away and well Windows finally did this. So how do I fix this in Civil 3D? Is there a way to force Civil 3D to use Edge or Chrome instead? If so I'd love to know this fix. If now when are we getting a service pack to address this very long outstanding issue which should've been addressed back in 2018 when we were informed that IE would be retired.

I have a few users reporting problems with opening some web pages in internet explorer (IE) when connected to GlobalProtect. Clicking on the email link simply opens up a blank page in IE. When the same link is pasted in Chrome, it works OK.

Very sad to read that this is an issue and hope that this will be resolved soon, as many of our customers are using internet explorer as their default browser and won't register for our webinars if they cannot access the registration page from the first time..

It ranges from Block All Cookies to Accept All Cookies. The default setting is Medium, which provides a balance of being permissive enough with Cookies to have a good experience on the internet while still blocking certain types of Cookies which could leak private information about you.

Adding to this, I had tried everythging for the VNC in Internet Explorer. But still don'y have any clue why the smart server is not able to send the certificate to the smart client desktop in internet explorer. The VNC authentication is blank and there is no option.

The Pop-up Blocker in Internet Explorer keeps most sites from opening pop-ups while you browse the internet. This is great for keeping advertising at bay, but it can cause problems with sites that rely on pop-ups to use. Turning off the Pop-up Blocker or lowering its blocking level can help you start using these websites again.

Clearing the cache and cookies from a web browser is an important first-step for almost any troubleshooting for internet browsing. The 'cache' is a tool used by your internet browser to speed up the page loading process. However, sometimes it can cause a problem when websites are updated and developed as files saved in the cache may conflict with what's actually coded into the website. Clearing cache and cookies is a way we can be sure that any issues you may come across are actually something wrong with the website, rather than inconsistencies caused by using different browsers. 0852c4b9a8
