Free Download Music Apps For Android

Does anyone have an idea why background applications such as Spotify, Youtube Music, or any music player in general gets closed down on Android 9? I've never met this problem before on Android 8.1. I tried everything to stop the system from closing the app I even went to the developer's options but nothing seems to prevent it from killing Music Players.

Unofficially one could probably do some modification of the My Cloud firmware to allow for some sort of remote access using apps or methods other than the official WD apps/web portal. Or possibly through WebDAV using the unofficial CloudDAVMod.

I was under the (false?) impression that the nextcloud android app would act as a file share and for selected files being able to be offline synced. So each file is accessable either via sharing or locally.

I have a similar problem. The included music player in the Android Nextcloud app is quite limited at this point. Or at least, I have not been able to figure out, how to use its features. I am able to play a single song, but then the playback stops and I have to manually select the next file to play. I would already be happy, if I could select several files to play one after another, or if it could play a whole folder. If anybody knows how to do this, then please feel free to share or if somebody wants to implement it, please go ahead. Would be appreciated a lot!

After searching music apps who can access this files i see the only reason to make no update looks like to sell another music app who can do this (with money or ads or stealing my data). Pausing the music/audio in one app does not typically trigger a focus change that will cause another app to resume. The app has to call abandonAudioFocus() or abandonAudioFocusRequest(audioFocusRequest), which should usually be called in response to stop(), not pause().

There is currently no way to give the Spotify app priority over all other sounds on you Android phone. Music should not stop if you go over a video with it's sound set to Mute on the various social media apps, but if those apps play videos with sound automatically, then you'll hear those videos and the music from the Spotify app will be paused.

There are different devices with different personalization settings out there so there is no one for all fix to this. You'd need to go and set us user preferences for each of those social media apps you use so that they don't play sound automatically. Muting notifications can also help on some devices.

It makes it a non-starter to choose to use Spotify while doing anything else on the phone (harming their end too). You have to keep a better player around that does not have this monumental use-stopper of a problem, and use that instead of Spotify, just because of this "behaviour".

Just while posting this, my music (I am using Spotify for a specific playlist today) has stopped 5 times because I had to go to Slack and WhatsApp for stuff. If the app pauses without an audio playing from another source, we'd suggest you restart the device and then log out and log back in again. It's also important that all the necessary permissions for the app are enabled. In case you're using any battery optimization or power saving apps, you can deactivate them for Spotify.

You are right.. i was listening to spotify but they always stop playing the music whenever facebook video plays (when i scroll) and of course that's annoying.
