My daughter has been playing Sims 4 (I refuse and stuck to Sims 2 lol) and used to be able to click on the sim in the creator screen and change their clothes and etc as she creates her new sim family. But now suddenly it doesn't work. Every time she clicks on the Sim she's making the cursor turns in to a camera or movie icon, something like that, and nothing happens. I read the answer below and tried reparing the Sims 4 game files. You have to click on game library and and right click on the Sims 4 game icon in that part of the app.. It took a few minutes. I opened Sims 4 through the origin app and it was fixed. Thank you.

@bae281995Have seen something similar when clothes in dryer aren't put away first before a sim changes clothes; so was curious.

It's as though sims change into clothes straight out of dryer, and the rest of the clothes there aren't "clean" anymore. (And, then, they've got a hamper with more "used/dirty" clothes to wash.)

Also noticed it with clothes in washer giving sims the "damp clothes" moodlet because they changed clothes while laundry was "in progress." Even though they've previously put away clean and dry laundry.

One other thing, in my game, the washtub only seems to be good for ~5 washes before it goes buggy and confused about the state of the laundry afterwards. So, I just replace it at that point (since it isn't that expensive) and everything seems to work fine again - well, for another 4 or 5 washes anyway.

I am barely noticing this now, but it is driving me crazy. My sim keeps putting on an outfit that I have assigned to another sim, and it is specifically her who keeps being copied. I am wondering if it has to do with clubs because i notice it most when my sims paint they change into her clothes... even a sim who is not in the club. And it isnt a preset outfit, it is one I put together.

Sim 3 is married to Sim 1, also a female. She doesnt paint as often and wasnt allowed in the paint club since she isnt an art lover. But I have noticed a few times, she went to paint and is also wearing her clothes. Like down to the shoes! I am currently trying to make a totally different outfits for the club to see if they keep wearing that, and if it is just when they do the club activities that they change. If so, I can handle that. I just never noticed it before and I just installed a few packs since they were on sale on xbox. Anyone else notice this? All I could find before is people freaking out about the seasons' outfit changes. Ive had seasons since it came out. This is not a season's thing.... I dont think......

After I set my sims their outfits for all categories, when I exit CAS and re-enter gameplay, the sims will wear their allocated outfits until they change clothes like to sleepwear when going to bed and when that happens, they only wear outfits but in clothes randomised which I haven't set for them. I went back into CAS and the outfits were still the same as I set them before but my sims won't wear the right ones when they are in game mode? I know that my keyboard broke during gameplay so I couldn't use shortcuts so I had to replace The Sims 4 file in the Electronic Arts document and as my keyboard started working, the clothes issue started to occur. Hope someone knows how to help thank you (:

I am also having this problem without using any mods or having any previous issues with the game. Everytime I go into CAS or "plan outfits" my clothes are normal (the ones I selected), but as soon as I go back into live mode the sim is wearing random clothing, sometimes the same outfit but without any pants or something completely different. At first I thought it was her work clothes, but it's like she has several outfits but they're all random ones I did not create. If I try to make her change into a different outfit, she will, but it's still not the one I created.

Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Almost all of them except few Stuff Packs

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just send your Sim in the winter or summer out.

What happens when the bug occurs? Sims won't change into cold weather/hot weather outfits when they leave the house. If I change it automatically, then they won't change back into their regular clothes when they come back home.

What do you expect to see? Sims changing their clothes according the weather outside when they are outside and changing back when they come home.

Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes

Please describe the patch or change you made. I mean, Seasons patch.

My Sims only change to appropriate outfits in 1 of 10 cases. Let's say it's freezing and I tell them to build a snowpal, they won't change into winter outfit and if I change it manually, when they come back home, they stay in their winter clothes. The same thing with summer. They only change to appropriate outfit when it's autonomous action and only when they're going out. I've seen this issue with other Game Changers, even on official livestream.

Also I recorded it. First I'm showing mods are off, it's freezing outside and my Sims are wearing regular clothes. Only that kid changed into winter clothes when I told them to go outside. I also tried to show some autonomus actions because that's when they mostly change into winter clothing (you can only see that with the toddler, my bad). When I used interaction "Build a snowpal with..." Sims changed twice out of three times. At the very end (I know it's longer video, sorry ?) there is a blizzard outside but once again, none of my Sims changed and they started freezing immediately.

They do not change clothes of all weather, but in the winter clothes is most irritating to see them walk in the house in the winter cap, gloves and ski goggles and doing the everydays things, you know...

Can we put in a patch request for the Sims to autonomously change clothes to reflect the 'cold weather' or 'hot weather' clothing assigned to them? They automatically change to the other outfits - workout, swimming, sleeping, formal, etc. - when appropriate to the activity type are engaging in...

For example, in the current household I'm playing, I keep having this particular Sim I'm working on skills for change into his winter clothes because he's uncomfortable due to to the cold, and he just took a shower and came out in his default clothes (not winter clothes)... so here we go again. Grrrr... On the other hand, there's another guy in the household running around in his PJs (tanktop) and he has no complaints. Go figure. On the other hand, sometimes a Sim will automatically do the Houdini spin and change into their cold weather clothes as soon as they're heading outside. It all seems rather random to me.

@PugLove888 -- I was noticing some quite a few times when sims were quite distressed yet did not change to the winter clothes (and where I even got the '______ is freezing to death' warning, etc... And where I would make them change to the appropriate clothing and as soon as they showered, exercised, etc., I was back where I started from...

Unfortunately I have not been noticing much either way recently since I have been mostly building then briefly testing... plus I ticked the box (in settings) to reduce effects of weather on my sims. It was too distressing the way this was happening. When they adjust it I'd love to know so I can untick that box. I don't trust it currently. I am a bit freaked out by blue sims (freezing, not aliens ) and them possibly dying from this.

Plus I'm most disturbed by two factors in this dynamic... that even though it's cold, middle of winter, etc., and others are wearing their winter gear, a sim may take a shower and come out in their normal clothes. It just shouldn't work that way. If they are on autonomous they should automatically get on their cold or hot clothes in appropriate weather. Period. Actually, even if they're not on autonomous the game should key them up in the clothes appropriate for the season if/when having the wrong clothes on is life threatening. Imho.

Sims are able to change the clothes they wear, either by using a dresser or on the spot before they perform certain interactions or go to certain places. In most circumstances, Sims will change their clothes simply by spinning around quickly. In console games prior to The Sims 3, Sims would produce changing booths before changing their clothes. Starting with The Sims 3, Sims no longer require a dresser or closet to change clothes, and can change into any category of clothing anywhere at the player's discretion.

Sims wear Normal clothes by default, and they are the only clothing category available in Create a Sim. All other categories have a default outfit, which is automatically assigned to Sims when they are created.[n 1] It is not possible to purchase Normal outfits, as wardrobes contain all available everyday clothes. Prior to Hot Date, the wardrobe's "Change Clothes" option would change a Sim into the next available Normal outfit for his or her age, gender, and skin tone, even if it didn't use the same body type. If Hot Date or a later expansion is installed, the "Change Clothes" option opens a dialog which allows the player to flip through previews of the Normal outfits available for the Sim's age, gender, skin tone, and body type. However, custom wardrobes based on pre-Hot Date wardrobes still work in the old way. 0852c4b9a8
