This is the one place that I did spend some time and its where I put into Joomla the design ideas I developed with Web Maker. There are two different "category blog" overrides and another for the single article. They're pretty simple and are really just changing the markup for the item to the "card" based design I have created. Because I wrote them with Web Maker I just have to copy and paste the code from there and replace the text with the joomla php needed to display the content. It is very easy to do.

How do I know if a site is built with drupal, wordpress or joomla? I only know that we have view source but dont know exactly where to see in view source.

For example I am trying to see if this site is made of any of the three cms.

panmedia.co.nz

Can you plz let me know how to see as I am trying to build like the above site.

General OSGB site has been operating with joomla infrastructure since 2016. In the last 2 years, the site, which has made a great investment in Google, has made great progress by getting organic traffic. Continuing its work, General OSGB has presented itself to Joomla.org users.

The JSST operates with a limited scope and only directly responds to issues with the core Joomla! CMS and Framework, as well as processing reports regarding the *.joomla.org network of websites. We do not directly handle potential vulnerabilities with Joomla! extensions or websites built by our users, however there are resources available for these categories. The Vulnerable Extensions List contains reports of security vulnerabilities in extensions and users may seek assistance with security issues on their websites from the Joomla! Forum.

Would there be a way for osTicket to automatically import users from joomla and actually be a component? Instead of entering a support ticket number, a user could just login and would share the user data with the support ticket system. The user could then click the support link and be taken directly into their osTicket profile.

If someone has resources where a shared joomla test site can be placed, then IM all others here, looking for the solution, so they can join in. I would also suggest a SourceForge project so tracking of errors, etc. can be logged so we do not repeat each others efforts here.

Ive done a small mod to the wrapper component to allow this so if anyone doing a joomla integration wants to know the little bit that i've done, let me know and i'll break it down into steps and message it here

As you can see, parameters of e and t can be passed in on the url, so rather than pointing the user to =this@email.co.uk&t=123456( =this@email.co.uk&t=123456) which wouldnt be within a Joomla view the first url above will show it within the joomla template

I dont believe there are any knock on effects for the wrapper. All my mod is doing is checking if there are any parameters passed in on the url and if there are, it passes them down to the wrapped url - if there arent any then it has no effect anyway. I'm starting to use an affiliate tracking package that is wrapped (couldnt find a decent one for joomla) and the wrapper works for that so I assume all is ok.

Its only a small step towards integration. Ideally osTicket would be a Joomla module/component in its own right. From my companies perspective, I can live with the "backend" not being a joomla module as osTicket emails us whenever there is a support requirement and provides a link back to the right place to login. My main requirement is for the user to see that osticket looks like its all part of the same application they are using, and wrapping at the moment appears to be the only way.

Thanks for that. Will keep an eye open - couldnt see any reference to a support ticket system from rsjoomla on google. I'm happy with osTicket but it would be good to have an integrated ticket system with Joomla

Let's say that members come to the website or they download the application and register directly to my moodle website at www.domain.com (which is moodle) then, is it a good idea to push them to another page like www.domain.com/joomla for other purposes . (Note that this page is not an application it is just mobile friendly).

now I am very very confused about deciding with method is better than the other one. Registering first on moodle and use joomla or registering first on joomla and log into moodle Or there may be another third possibillity I get rid of any CMS and I focus on LMS alone, but I'm afraid I may lose some students conversions.

What do you think? Any suggestion?

Bests,

If you get the following error when installing or upgrading CiviCRM for Joomla - you can downloading the alternate Joomla install file - civicrm-x.x.x-joomla-alt.zip - which doesn't require built-in unzip functionality on your server. Then repeat the install steps starting with running the installer.

I have tried all solutions listed in http:// forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=614279None seem to work for me while they do work for a lot of other people. This code, top rated, made absolutely no difference to me:

Could this be a permission issue with Ubuntu and Apache2? - I've had permission issues before with software, even joomla, it was unable to modify files until I set the directory permissions. - Normally your host sets permissions correctly, obviously you wouldn't be able to do anything. Though I host it myself.

A bit of an oddly timed comparison since Joomla 4 is (finally) getting released. That said what joomla does exponentially better than WP is granularity. You have to add a bunch of third party stuff to wordpress to do what Joomla does out of the box for user types/groups and access levels. This can make for very customizable sites that you as the admin can present to different types of users. For example showing types of ads to one user group and different ads to another. Showing different content to different types of users. This is also why the module implementation in joomla is out of the box, superior to widgets and overall page building in wordpress. It is extremely simple to put elements in a very specific place in joomla without any extra php or css or customizing of themes.

The other area where Joomla is far superior is themes/templates. Specifically in joomla you can assign different themes (templates in joomla syntax) to different pages or parts of your site.

All that said I have been using both Joomla and WP for years (going back to the beginning for both) but the primary benefit of WP today, is the availability of 3rd party developers both for plugins and support. A lot of joomla 3pd have jumped ship and some of the more important components and plugins for joomla are not supported well. For me, Joomla 4 is too little, too late and Joomla, since day one has been filled with infighting from the core developers and this has led to defections and sometimes misplace priorities in the releases. But as a CMS it is better conceived than WP and WP would be a better CMS with some Joomla influences in these specific areas that I mentioned.

Dommage you compare joomla3 to wp 5.8

Joomla 4 IS comming in August and propose a reply to every argument

For me wp IS realy good for simplier site but if you need to create more powerfull site or intranet joomla IS realy better with full level Access (acl) multilingue and module(widget) assignation out of box in core 0852c4b9a8
