Work-based learning (WBL) is the umbrella term used to identify activities which collaboratively engage employers and schools in providing structured learning experiences for students. These experiences focus on assisting students develop broad, transferable skills for postsecondary education and the workplace. A quality WBL program can make school-based learning more relevant by providing students with the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to real world situations.

Work-based learning is supported in the school and at the work site. While school-based learning focuses on academic and career and technical preparation as part of the classroom curriculum, work site learning occurs, away from school, in a business or community organization.

Our Living-Learning Programs provide students with the opportunity to thrive both in and out of the classroom in a learning environment that becomes home. Make the most of your Virginia Tech experience by joining a Living-Learning Program.

Institutions are encouraged to consider how their mission and designation as an HSI could reimagine and/or strengthen courses, degree programs, departments, or divisions. The HSI:ELPSE solicitation welcomes projects that look to implement, test and refine promising practices and/or conduct research related to broadening participation or improving recruitment, retention, graduation and other positive outcomes for undergraduates in STEM.

Please see below for specific information about each track. Generally, proposals to the IEP track will center on one or more of the following: courses; curricular improvements; pedagogy; support structures inside and outside of the classroom; degree programs; and student pathways.

After each program, I walk away with the feeling that my expectations were exceeded and that the return on investment was greater than I could ever imagine. Stanford makes it really easy to learn at your own pace, choose your hours, choose the courses that really interest you, and they provide a powerful learning platform that is engaging and exciting to learn from.

CITI Program is also accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training.

Curricula vary by program, but all include specialized seminars, extensive co-curricular programming, collaborative research-centered presentations and performances, community outreach such as student-run mentoring and teaching programs, and research practica.

Scratch is an excellent place for kids who love coding to begin because it uses a LEGO-like drag-and-drop interface to help kids learn coding logic. Using Scratch, one of the best platforms for kids to learn computer science, Create & Learn's award-winning live online classes offer students a chance to build their own games, animations, and other programs with the help of a professional coding teacher. The courses are suitable for different ages, but this is a great one for younger kids. There's even a free intro lesson, to this course, designed by experts from Google, Stanford, and MIT.

Have fun mastering this essential computer programming language. PPython is a high-level coding language used by companies such as Netflix and Google, and it is also used for web development, game development, building apps, machine learning, and so much more. This live online class covers not only the basics of Python coding for kids and teens, but also puts a strong focus on the elements of Python that are most relevant to Artificial Intelligence, including data structures and libraries.

For high school students who want to go the extra mile and pass the AP exam in Computer Science A, this course is a golden opportunity for learning the requirements for the exam and the study methods that will help each student achieve a high score of 4 or 5 on the AP exam. It is not an easy course, and students should already have some understanding of coding and computer science, but with that, advanced students will find great learning opportunities with the help of a live, professional educator.

Register between March 15 - April 15 for the best opportunity to get into the program of your choice. Many PreK-8 summer programs fill quickly. Based on capacity, students may be placed on a waiting list.

Living & Learning Programs are specialized residential programs initiated by and having direct connections with faculty and specific academic units/departments. In partnership with Resident Life staff and other student services staff, these faculty and academic administrators link the curricular and residential experiences in ways that create opportunities for deeper understanding and integration of classroom material.

The Laboratory Learning Program is a full-time, free research experience in the sciences or engineering for high school students. Students are included in ongoing research programs where they are closely supervised by Princeton faculty and research staff. The participation dates are customized according to the schedules of the research personnel and the specifics of the project. Internships typically span 5-6 weeks during regular 'office hours' over the summer (no evening or weekend activities). Each research opportunity has its own schedule. There are no virtual projects.Ā 


The Laboratory Learning Program is not a summer camp. The Laboratory Learning Program does not include housing, transportation, social activities or entertainment. LLP students are not eligible to lease or sublease Princeton University housing.


The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning is helping make evidence-based social and emotional learning an integral part of education from preschool through high school.

Service learning is an important part of our medical school curriculum designed to expose students to the challenges facing underserved communities to complement classwork and strengthen not only medical skills, but compassion and commitment to improving the health of their community.

We encourage students to take courses, complete internships, or conduct research abroad for credit that will count toward their degree. Learning Abroad also supports students completing co-curricular learning experiences abroad including conferences, symposia, service learning, and study tours.

CNM offers innovative programs that meet the needs of the students who are interested in taking classes the way they want and starting a new career in short amount of time. Choose from CNM Online, Fast Track programs, Competency-Based programs, Bilingual programs, and Retail Management Certificates.

Save time and money on your degree by earning credit for what you already know. Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) assesses college-level learning earned outside of CNM and awards you college credit towards a degree or certificate program.

Coordinated Entry programs require a pre-registration screening process prior to entry. You must complete an online Pre-Registration Screening Form before becoming eligible to register for program courses.

Toastmasters' core education program is the Pathways learning experience, offering members 11specialized learning paths with more than 300 unique competencies. Drawing from Pathways principles,the Speechcraft digital experience is a 4- to 8-week program, created for experienced Toastmastersmembers to help non-members jump-start their public speaking and communication skills. SIT Study Abroad programs are developed around a framework of the most critical global issues (CGIs) of the day. Our programs are interdisciplinary and appropriate for a variety of majors. Most programs address two CGIs within specific cultural and geographical contexts or comparatively across several countries and continents.

SIT works with colleges and universities to develop international programs and strategies. We collaborate closely with you to design programs and initiatives that fit with your curriculum, desired learning outcomes, and specific academic goals.
