Hello, currently I am trying to connect an ewon cosy 131 ethernet version to my pc via the ebuddy software. When I plug the ethernet cable into my pc and into port 1 of the ewon, ebuddy is not seeing anything. I tried a level 1 reset already but this did not seem to change anything. I checked that my firewall allowed ebuddy to connect. The device is not currently connected to the internet and I am not sure if that would make a difference. Any potential solutions would be greatly appreciated.

If you can ping the eWON / access its web interface but eBuddy is unable to see the device then an antivirus and/or firewall is restricting traffic to the eBuddy software. If possible, temporarily disable the AV/Firewall or create an exception for the ebuddy program.

You do not need ebuddy to access the interface of the eWON. You can manually type the LAN IP of the eWON into the browser. Once in the interface, run through the wizards to see which step fails as this will narrow down why the device is offline in ecatcher.

After some typing - mostly mimicking the article - and a little reading of the documentation for libusb to get the commands right, I managed to make the angel do something from Debian - success! I added a little man-page, a udev-rules-file, and a Makefile - check out my ebuddy repository.

You may have come across a very obscure bug referred to in a blog post on the Opera sitepatching blog ( -and-some-core-patches ) as "PATCH-287, Hack to make script see typed value in TEXTAREA on blog.ebuddy.com. Opera fails to read correct value from a previously hidden textarea". 0852c4b9a8
