I have uploaded a 3D Model to Autodesk viewer. In the 2D View there is a layers option which is not available in the 3D view.

In the 3D view the only option is to turn on/off Objects which doesn't meet our needs as we need to identify the objects.

Is there a way to turn layers on/off while viewing in 3D? Or another free viewer that may do this?

Or do I need to move to other software?

For your online viewer support, actually click on the ? on the top right of that website and follow the links. Try this in the interim so when you repost you can actually show you tried what you wanted in the correct place too

I am using a soldier brick for accent trim around arches and windows. The OTB material is too dark and the vertical joints are too close to avoid mortar joints where they shouldn't be. So, I edited the image files to lighten them and spread out the vertical joints. The new material works great in Revit! But, as soon as I upload to Autodesk Viewer to show to clients, those materials come through black in the viewer.

I am using the OOTB material. I also modify the material using PBR and it shows up fine. Can you copy the material over to new project. I like to test it from my end and see if I am getting different result from Autodesk viewer.

It still leaves the question of why edited material images show up fine in Revit but not in the Viewer. More importantly, I am still needing to figure out how to get customized material images to show up correctly in the viewer. That is going to be an ongoing need! Any ideas on either of those questions?

I'm using the online Autodesk Viewer to share my Revit model so other people can look at it without having Revit on their computers. The 3D view that makes it into the model seems to be a defaut view of everything that is existing in my Revit model, which is not what I'm looking for because it shows unnecessary elements like grids and model lines. I'd like to know if there is a way to select a view of my preference from my Revit model (that has been set to look a certain way - with templates and section boxes and such) or a way to edit the 3D view in the viewer to customize it to my liking.

I've uploaded the RVT files to the online viewer. I have everything selected in the Sharing Options, but I do not get the Model Browser option at the top as you have in your screen shot. I see all of the sheets but no 3D view option. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong?

So far we've seen major performance improvements across all projects switching over to this new file format, but it's possible that your model is so large/complex that even SVF2 isn't helping. In that case I'm afraid we won't have other solutions, other than perhaps splitting your design into multiple models, and loading only those that you really need. For example, Navisworks designs are often split by area and/or discipline, and the models are then loaded selectively by specific users. Initially I uploaded our services model with supporting architectural and structural models but the phase the solitary 3D view created in the viewer was "Existing" with a filter of "Show All". I managed to get around this by creating a 3D view in each model just called "3D" and setting the phase and filter as I like. Happy days.

However, I am only getting some elements from the services model come through into the Autodesk Viewer application. Most notably it's missing ducts, sanitary pipework, cable trays, radiators. In the "3D" 3D view I have created everything is phased correctly, no issues from worksets, visibility graphics, view discipline is coordination (doesnt work to change to mechanical) and everything looks hunky dory in Revit. In the viewer though it's a different story. Even if I upload the services model on it's own. Strangely, in the 2d sheet views all the equipment and infrastructure is there fine, just in 3D it is now.

I guessing I'm at a place where what I'm really after is a custom Forge viewer application to design in the functionality I am after, in this case control of phasing in the .svf file output and ensuring everything is coming through in the view.

An organisation I have completed work for needs a secure viewer for many different types of file. They have DWG TrueView and Design Review - however it strikes me that Autodesk Viewer would be a more lightweight option for them, and would allow all users easy access to the tools needed to review project drawings and/or models.

I'm having the same issue. Colors export ok in DWFX when opened in Autodesk Design Review program but colors don't show up in online Autodesk Viewer. I'm trying to share a model with a vendor who doesn't have the free program since it is easy to just share a link to the online viewer, but the lack of being able to see the view representation as I exported it is disappointing. Any updates?

Are you talking about viewing your models using the Autodesk online viewer OR using Shared views within Inventor. Typically you would need to have an Autodesk account to upload your data and when you upload your files, they are secured under your account unless you choose to share it with others for collaboration.

I can set the image to match the size of the split face boundary but then it is off centre, if I don't have it set to tile nothing shows. So I leave it on tile and keep changing the offset until it looks right. I then upload it to Autodesk viewer and it is in a completely different position.
