You rle! Thanks!

Quick tip in return, you can export files as Interactve PDFs with layers, and then in acrobat go into the layers and set print properties. So a page with a full bleed image can be set to not print the image and etc.

now that that is out of the way I have taken the unintelligent .pdf and OCR'd them using ABBYY Finereader 8.0 corporate. to convert them to an .rtf. then I do a "file" "save as" .doc file. Once that is done I clean up the text and formating and then re-.pdf the files. all goes well accept for the tables, When the tables are converted to .pdf the line weight randomly gets lighter or dissapears on the screen until it is blown up past 160% then you can see them all, when you print the files they print just fine.

I think (not 100% sure) the file is generated by Cognos/TM1. The doctotext converter works as per normal, but it is impossible to use normal Alteryx tools (I mostly use REG_EX / Multi-Row formula / filter) to extract the data within. The rows/columns labels & amounts are spread all over the place and there are no repeated patterns to work with.

I can export the PDF to XLSX using the converter within Adobe Reader (I have paid to have Adobe Export PDF), but I am unaware of how to make that happen within Alteryx and I am trying to avoid the manual process step of doing something outside Alteryx

But it works the way you ask when I tried to Reprint the PDF using the "Foxit Reader PDF reader" or "Microsoft print to PDF" and then import that PDF into the AutoCAD(See attachment) The downside is that dashed lines are imported as hatch.

Like @panayi067, I also am looking for a good PDF-to-text converter. I am following the tutorial mentioned by @SomebodySysop and applying it to research publications. It is not working well and I believe part of the issue is that footers and headers are read along with the text. Furthermore, references to images, datasets, and in-text citations also contribute to odd source choices by the vector search. I now am looking for a solid PDF-to-text converter that might at least recognize headers and footers and remove those (currently, I am testing pdf3f). Optionally, it would be amazing if it could also add metadata, for example checking if a text chunk is part of the abstract, methods section, bibliography, etc. But may be for these extra stuff PDF-to-markdown might be necessary.

Microsoft Word's built-in PDF converter is generally very good, but always be sure to double-check for formatting changes in your PDF document, and especially check any graphics, illustrations, and tables that were part of your document to make sure they converted properly. In rare instances, you may have to convert lesser-known image formats (for example, those used by proprietary engineering programs) to a more popular format like .tiff or .jpg before doing the conversion to PDF format.

Meanwhile, the DjVu format is basically the same thing. A team developed the format in the mid-90s as an open competitor to PDF. The team boasted that DjVu files could be compressed smaller than PDFs while still being of higher visual quality. It is also easier for document readers to render DjVu files.

Since PDF has become so popular, the vast majority of people do not save their documents in the DjVu format anymore. However, you might have an older DjVu file and need to open it. You could download a DjVu reader, but it might be easier to convert it to a PDF. This will allow you to open it in programs you already know and understand.

Similarly, DjVu files were used by the Internet Archive for scanning public-domain books in order to make them freely available online. The Internet Archive ceased this practice in 2016, but there are still plenty of DjVu scans of books around. You may have found one of these and want to convert it to PDF so you can read it on your e-reader.
