Quickly and easily record voice notes that you can download or share via a link with your colleagues and customers. In the age of remote working it has never been more important (or easier!) to record voice memos and internal team communications that you can share with multiple people with a single click. Colleagues and customers can even leave comments on your voice recording, making collaboration and feedback an even more fluid process

I have had the 23 since it was first available and it never had the voice recorder. It's mentioned often online as being a standard app. the app is also not in the galaxy store. Can anyone help me find how to add it?

To submit translations, you will first need a Crowdin account. You can sign up for one here. After creating an account you can submit your translations for the voice recorder component by doing the following:

Plus this component is more or less just a demo than a production tool. You (and yours users) should do audio more basic way: use your devices (mobile, audio recorder, deskop, what ever) and upload that file normally.

NTSB investigators were unable to hear cockpit voice recorder audio from the Jan. 5 Alaska Airlines accident because the data was overwritten. Since 2018, at least 14 NTSB investigations have been hampered because cockpit voice recorder, or CVR, data were overwritten, including seven serious runway incursions that occurred in early 2023.

When I first started doing interviews to write articles and stories I did try using recorders but found them to be clunky and not user friendly for me. Times have changed. New recording devices are now user friendly, even sleek for a decent price. As mentioned before, a recording device is more necessary for my work now, so I set out to find the one best for me. Hence, a series of product reviews. For me, I need something simple. I want to use my time to do the interviewing and the writing and not worrying about my recording device. After trying a lot of options, this continues to be my standby.

But the very best thing about this recorder? The USB is connected to the recorder! No extra cords needed! I can hook the device directly to my computer for easy transfer of information as well. It comes with a USB cord if needed too. Note that some less expensive models (even of good brands) do not come with a USB connection port, so that can account for price differences. When I am doing an oral history interview for a client, right after the interview I can upload the content right to my computer and to their thumb drive, easy peasy. It has always been seamless. The only issue I have ever had is when I switched batteries and failed to update the date. I thought my files were lost, but the date was just wrong. So always remember to update the date and time when batteries are replaced.

Both of the features are on the Versa 2 however they do not work in conjunction. I really need a smartwatch that would be able to record audio. This should be easy since the Fitbit versa 2 already has a microphone built in, and it would only require some software editing. I have read multiple pages in the community blogs that have been asking if any of the Fitbit series has the audio or video recording feature. I understand that video does not make sense because of storage, and the size and quality of the camera that would need to be incorporated. I would love if the Versa 2 would be able to use the features it already has. Also I would love it if the voice recording feature would be available in the sdk if that is not too much to ask.

I believe the status is just saying this idea has been acknowledged by a moderator (not sure where that would put it in any process). I agree that if there were to be a voice recorder app, it would have to be developed by Fitbit itself, not by 3rd party devs.

@WavyDavey I 100% agree with you about that. However, with Alexa on the Versa 2 I already have some privacy concerns. If Fitbit were to add it, I am sure they could add a microphone on or off for third party apps. I am sorry if I said that it was a requirement. I actually meant that it would be a nice have. I really want a way to record my voice such as the voice memos app on Apple phones.

so i would like a voice recorder on the versa 2 it has the hardware but not the software i would also like the recordings to be replayable from the fitbit app i this is possible please do it also make the microphone be accessible to the SDK users

it needs to happen. This could be a HUGE thing to help domestic violence victims as well as anyone who needs to record memos, etc. If not on the fitbit, then perhaps a button on your fitbit to turn on voice recording to your phone without someone noticing..in the case of an emergent situation.

Another voice of agreement here. It is a bit strange that it is webm honestly.

For now I think I will write a python script or so that automatically converts the webm files. I use syncthing for sharing the state of my vault to all my devices, it should be able to trigger my script when it detects a change in the directory.

The compact design and intuitive operation of KODAK digital voice recorders is your convenient every day option for instantly recording quality audio in WAV/MP3 formats. Its lithium battery and hands-free recording functions makes it suitable for all needs and is good for recording brief ideas as well as several hours of interview taken in any location. Its many advantages include its loudspeaker and its Plug & Play technology making it easy for you to listen to and take full advantage of your saved recordings.

Which leads me to wonder how easy it would be to migrate all of my various content into EverNote, and then whether the EverNote Android app is as powerful when it comes to handling handwriting & voice, as the Samsung apps.

Hi. I don't normally use handwriting or voice, so no great recommendations from me, but I do have a Note 4 which can be set up to save Notes to an Evernote-accessible notebook. The integration is far from complete - once edited in Evernote the notes become part of that space and can't (AFAIK) be made available in the Samsung app. As to migration - if your notes can be exported as HTML, images or text files they can be clipped or otherwise dropped into Evernote. Best way to find out if it is feasible would be to try it out on some test notes and see what happens...

So that's what I know, as @gazumped says, try it and see. WRT handwriting and voice, Evernote can do both, though many find handwriting a note in Evernote to be laggy. Handwritten notes will be indexed for searching, as noted above. AFAIK, voice notes will not.

Yes, this should be possible. You would create an essay type question within your quiz (so that students can use the Rich Content Editor ... also known as the RCE). Then, when they get to that question, they can use the RCE to start recording their voice (or they could add a pre-recorded audio clip if that was allowed).

My question and suggestion is if there is anything in the pipeline to add a voice messaging feature into the Google Chat, at least with 1:1 conversations? I know most coaches use voice messaging with client communication and also with official weekly Check-in responses, so this would be very big and beneficial add on

Hello @AndrewB - Threadit is a nice service for what it is, but it seems it doesn't really address the need expressed by Anna. Video recordings in Gmail on desktop fulfill a different need than voice messages in Google Chat.

Imagine a conversation in a group inside google chat with 5 members of your team, 1 from a computer, 3 on the phone and you walking on the street... if you want to participate on that chat you can't phone call anyone, you need to send the voice message right there and you need to keep track of that conversation in the same place. This is one of the reasons of why whe moved from google chat to slack. 0852c4b9a8
