A firmware is an IPSW file that contains everything needed to run the core operating system, iOS. Beta firmwares have also been released, but require an Apple Developer account to acquire. To check for updates, iTunes contacts itunes.apple.com.

Apple TV firmwares have two different version and build numbers, which can lead to confusion when referencing them. As such, the internal build number is the best way to refer to a specific firmware.

I believe this issue has been addressed differently before but here is my question. As a software developer and tester, downgrading the iOS firmware on iphone devices is critical to testing features for new apps. Knowing that apple only allows downgrading to signed firmware (which is usually the current firmware and the the one before), is there a way for developers to downgrade to "non publicly signed" ios firmware? In other words, does apple provide some sort of a developer SHSH blob so that iTunes could accept older .psw firmware? Alternatively, could a firmware be downloaded on iPhone without the need of SHSH blob or APTicket checking?

With iOS 4 coming out soon, I have already planned to include an iAd in a future update of an app of mine. I assume that this will make my app unusable for anyone on a firmware lower than 4.0. Is there a way to change those variables and the .xib file based on the user's firmware?

I am in recovery mode on the phone and plug it in it starts the update OR restore downloads the file, installs then produces this error. It seems that the firmware file from apple is corrupt in some way.

A few days ago I experienced that the IOS 17.1.2 devices (iphone) did not get internet connectivity via deco wifi, but can have internet connection via same ISP and same subnet with another brand wifi AP. Seems like, this is IOS + Deco specific problem. I made manually upgrade too on the deco. I did "forget this network", turn of device hide with fake MAC address, disable trcacking protection on phone, switched off roaming and beamforming too on AP .It doesn't help. I use my deco X50 V1 in AP mode. Other devices working well with the same Deco AP, which is strange, and confirm that is IOS + DECO thing.

When was the last time you updated the camera's firmware. The 5D Mark IV is up to firmware version 1.4.0 now. Which will allow the camera to send images to Canon's cloud storage service. This also solves connectivity problems too.

I have 5(!) iXpand Flash Drives (all updated with the lastest firmware 4.4.7) and have tried them on both iPhone and iPad with iOS 9.2. None of them are able to find the actual pictures or videos inside the folders on my iPhone/iPad, just the maps where the picture and video files are.

The Philips 9030 just got a firmware update (1.4.0) that allows the use of a button on the hearing aid to answer calls. If you have Oticon More aids, the same update is coming to your aids. They update in lock step with each other.

The Philips 9030 just got a firmware update to allow the use of a button on the hearing aid to answer calls. If you have Oticon More aids, the same update is coming to your aids. They update in lock step with each other.

The Philips firmware, which tracks the Oticon since both are made by Dement, was released last week. Starting up the fitting software (at Costco) and connecting to your aids will flag that there is a firmware update available to 1.4.1.

The issue is that for our R3 WiFi chip, the WiFi firmware assumed one part of the WiFi standard meant that within the connection string, one of the parameters would never have additional information. They put in a filter and refused connections that had any additional parameters.

We are pushing this firmware upgrade from our end proactively and you should see no interruption in service. If you do, please let me know and we will address it. The upgrade should be completed by tomorrow afternoon.

Your 632 FW broke HomeKit on my system. It has been working fine with HomeKit until this past weekend. Now I know why it suddenly started giving NO RESPONSE messages this weekend in the Home app. I tried deleting and re-adding the controller, but it no longer shows up as a device in the Home app. System still works through the Rachio app, but HomeKit is now broken with the 632 FW you pushed out. Any chance I could roll-back? And BTW, I use iphone 11 running current version of iOS, and Gen4 Apple Watch to control the system via HomeKit.

We have a new firmware release after the controller is provisioned. If you only have access to an iPhone 11 we will have an option soon to connect the controller to the internet using a laptop as an initial workaround. PM me if you would like me to let you know when it is out.

I need to update firmware of my iPod Touch (iPhone) in Ubuntu and as I have jailbroken iPod Touch I need iTunes to install apps, but unfortunately haven't found any ways to do that in Ubuntu yet. I know that it is possible to use VirtualBox or Wine, but still in the most of the times iTunes doesn't want to work on Wine and for VirtualBox I need to install again that Windows from which I switched into Ubuntu just a few months ago and don't want to go back to it.

I tired to update my iPhone firmware form v2 to v3 using iTunes running in VMware. The process stoped mid stream and the iPhone was rendered useless. I hooked it up to a friend's windows machines and after several update attempts it came back to life.

Firmware is the computer program embedded in and running your Performance Monitor. We recommend always using the latest version of firmware so that your PM5 up to date on improvements and capabilities.

The Creators' App website list of confirmed iPhones does NOT include the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I would like to update my firmware to version 2.0 but first want to confirm that the camera, Creators' App and the iPhone 14 Pro Max all work together.

Life was fine - could print famously well from any iPad or iPhone in the house...then I saw the firware update that enabled ePrint and I updated so I could print to the home print from my laptop when on the road. Not sure why, never really needed it before - but alas, I digress... The problem is that sinc eth firmware update airprint no longer functiosn correctly as I get continued copies of the same print jobs - over and over - unless, after the first print job, I double click on the home button onf the iPad to bring upi the print queue manager and hit cancel. It appears that the iPad/iPhone is not getting a print job complete message from the printer (??) and it keeps sending the print jobs.

There is a new firmware update released just now for the m1217 series that resolves the airprint issue you are all seeing. It is also available for windows, not just OSX. This is also a NEW version of firmware, not the downgrade workaround that was available on osx only.

Attempt a hard reset on the iphone/ipad by holding power and home together until the device shuts off. It may power back up on its own when you let go of the buttons, if not simply turn it back on with the power button.

I have the same problem with my m1217nfw, the most recent firmware update broke Airprint and the document now just prints continuously. Double tapping the home button on your iphone/ipad will launch a print manager where you can cancel the print, this is the only work around I have found. HP, please fix this or I will be forced to return printer!!

Netgear has really screwed up. I bought one of these for home as well before I knew the issues and my girlfriends laptop, kept dropping. She can't upgrade her OS because of the age of her mac. Therefore she can't use the wifi at their current firmware. This is outrageous ! I simply cannot believe they haven't offered back firmwares so that people can use these routers until something is fixed.

So far so good with the firmware update. The disconnect/lag issues we had with iPhone 5c/6/7 and iPad Mini 4 seem to be resolved with a fairly continuous test case over the past 24 hours. Each of those devices were unable to stay reliably connected for more than 10-15 minutes with the previous firmware dispite attempts to change signal strength, channel, and other advanced settings.

If your Apogee MiC 96k or JAM 96k has firmware version 3.0.2 (MiC Plus firmware 001.000.011), it needs a firmware update to be completely compatible with iOS 11 and up. To check the firmware version, connect your MiC or JAM to your iOS device with the Apogee Lightning cable. Go to the Settings App. Navigate to General About. Select JAM or MiC which should appear toward the bottom of this list and select it to view the firmware version.

Well, the firmware and carrier update are for ios 12.x. I am not sure why you had to manually change it. If you would like to make it work with Koodo, I would suggest you bring the phone to the latest ios (ios14) or 13.x when Apple still allows.

I am having issues with downloading the firmware on two Apple devices with both saying that they Could not Update. After many uninstalling and reinstalling and repairing with tech support, I was finally told to use an Android product to update.

At this point this is false advertisement since the product states that this is compatible with iOS.

If you consider updating the firmware for ASUS router, but do not allow to use wired PC, or your router is not around, you can use "Firmware Upgrade" feature of our ASUS Router App to make a remote-controlled update.
