I would like to see D&DV be printed in various "edition themed" versions.
They would all have exactly the same text, but would have different covers, fonts, logos, and illustrations that exactly mimicked the various iterations of D&D.
1) The default, mass-release D&DV, featuring whatever font, illustration style, and logo the 5e design team senses is the most essential distillation for mass appeal.
2) A D&DV "Original Theme". Printed as manila-colored soft-covers in a wood-grain box. New drawings commissioned from the original humble artists if they're still alive.
3) D&DV "BECMI Theme". Like the "Red Box" Essentials Starter Set. Elmore and Easley for interior illustrations.
4) D&DV "First Edition Theme". Featuring whichever 1e style is most iconic--perhaps the Orange Spine. Maybe remove the "Advanced" from the logo. Here's a rough mock-up:
5) D&DV "Second Edition Theme". Maybe remove the "Advanced" from the logo.
6) D&DV "Third Edition Theme". Photographed "metal and jewels" cover. I've posted a rough mock-up cover here, but the real cover would be a new "metal & jewels" cover, so as to be distinguishable from, but evocative of, the 3e PHB and the 3.5 PHB.
7) D&DV "Fourth Edition Theme"
In the case of the earlier Edition Themes, it'd be fitting to use the same cover art, since the goal is nostalgia. But in the case of the Third Edition Theme and Fourth Edition Theme, they'd have new covers by the same artists, so as to distinguish them from the used books and backstock.
Like the recent First Edition reprints, the less popular Themes might only be available through certain outlets.

If we were to be completist, there'd be other Themes available too:
The B/X Moldvay CD&D Theme
The first printing AD&D1e Theme (with the jewel-eyed statue cover)
The Rules Cyclopedia/WotI CD&D Theme
The Player's/DM's Option 2e Theme
