About Us

The FS Space Agency was established in 2023 as a successor to the FMRA. The FMRA itself was originally established in 1992 as the Rocket Division, being renamed the FMRA in 2011 as part of the second Dispersion of Power Through FS review. Initially established to deliver the FS Space Programme, the FMRA developed its own technologies and products which made it one of the most successful parts of FS. More recently, the FMRA had been shifting its focus to software and artificial intelligence, with the hope that autonomous landers can help us discover more about planets in our solar system.

The FSSA is a full member of the Macdonald Space Agency, being one of the permanent members of the Executive Council and holding the rotating Presidency most recently in 2019. It works closely with other departments within FS in order to deliver targets.
