Here is a page on my model railway known as Fredton. Since the last update on YouTube I have rebuilt it again and progress is moving along nicely
Here is the current scene right in the heart of Fredton Town Centre. This is where the Bus Station (a slightly modified Kingsway kit) sits alongside the Greenway Shopping Centre and s small bus depot among other things. This is probably one of the best scenes on the model railway, and is where the most action is happening
Here is the area around Fredton Beach. This is slotted between the mainline and the wall of the model railway room. Althought its only a small section, it is very nice and highly detailed. More things are to be added however progress will most likely be slow in this section. I've always loved coastal railways - such as at Dawlish - so I wanted to bring a piece of that into the model world
Here is the area along the High Street. Located behind the hustle and bustle of the main street and local businesses is the main Fredton Bus Depot. Although buses are stored at both bus depots most of them are stored at this bigger site. This area is the only area to have lighting at the moment, with the Railway Station next in line once completed. Behind the dominating railway viaduct is the beach from earlier
Here is the scene near Fredton Station. This is a very built up scene, where lots of detail has been crammed in. The station canopy is based on Bristol Temple Meads and whilst its a little more dominating that I would've liked, it gives the impression that any large railway station should do. Down the bottom located on Bridge Street (opposite the High Street from earlier) is one of the main entrances. Bus stops are located nearby, and this is where most of the visitors to the town are likely to exit the station. Once the interior of the station starts, you should get a nice view of the hallway with some small shopping outlets (like the underpass at Bristol Temple Meads) with ticket machines on the left. A smaller entrance will be located on the same level as the platforms, and this is where a shuttle bus will operate to/from the town centre. Although the station building for this entrance is there an interior still needs to be added
Here is the area around the Fredton Heritage Railway at Sedgemoor Vale Station. This is where the town scene ends and smaller countryside scene begins. Although its only a small station, there are a few adjacents sidings where trains are sometimes kept. Although the line is a loop it is designed so that it looks like it continues further into Somerset, with tunnels / bridges being located at both ends. The area around Sedgemoor Vale Station is called Mumple, and is where a small funfair will hopefully be located along with a small miniature railway similar to the Lynton & Barnstaple at Woody Bay, with the area on the opposite side of the heritage and mainline tracks being called Dadwater (a reference to my parents)
Here is the final area known as Quayside. To the left is the town centre and where an overpass will be built so buses can in theory travel directly from the Bus Station to the area near Fredton Station, and then out to the Park & Ride, avoiding the High Street. In the centre is the bridge over the Wynn Canal. This area looks very nice and is designed to be a nice area for locals to relax and let the world go by
MODEL RAILWAY MAP
FredtonBuses is the main bus operator of bus services on the model railway. They operate many local routes as well as services to Taunton and Bridgwater. They also operate the Fredton Coaster open top service. To view the FredtonBuses fleet visit https://www.mybustimes.cc/operator/fredton-buses/vehicles/. A routes section is also being implemented soon
Here is my current Buses of Somerset model fleet. The Buses of Somerset was the brand used by First Bus for services around Taunton, Bridgwater and Yeovil between 2014-2025. I thought it would be nice to replicate some of the old liveries that used to be seen all over South Somerset

I have a number of steam engines, however i'm unsure of what class or make they are
This space will fill up when I next buy a heritage model train
This is the end of the model railway page for now, I'm unsure what else to add on this page. Although the model railway is still in working progress, much of it is almost complete
