Fête de la Science / Science fair 2026 : we will be in Amorgos to present the exhibition about the earthquake and tsunami that struck the archipelago 70 years ago, and our findings. We will also train students about tsunami hazards, and how to read the landscape to see evidences for recent fault activity !

ANR AMORGOS project Linked In Google Scholar Research Gate

I am assistant professor at Géoazur lab, in Université Côte d'Azur since 2016. I am also co-leading a scientific team in Géoazur : "Séismes : Aléas et Risques". I am presently leading the Amorgos ANR project, as well as a project on the submarine fault in the Ligurian Sea.

My research interest focuses on the identification and characterization of submarine faults that can trigger earthquakes and tsunamis. I study submarine landscapes but also coastal areas to look for witnesses of active faulting. I am also developing new approaches in subaquaous palaeoseismology.

I graduated my PhD in 2014 at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, where i studied the deformation of the Caribbean plate, in the Lesser Antilles arc, as a response of the subduction processes. Then i worked as a Research Fellow at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, where i studied the indonesian subduction zone, and the Wharton Basin earthquakes. I was hired in 2016 in Géoazur - Université Côte d'Azur, where i develop projects in collaboration, on fault's architecture and submarine active faults. These studies intend to better assess seismic and tsunami hazards.

Part of my job is to teach undergraduate and graduate students at Université Côte d'Azur. My courses focuses on active tectonics, remote sensing, structural geology, and geomorphology. Through my research projects, i always includes dissemination of the science.
