Who we are

As United Methodists, Fredericksburg UMC recognizes the work of God across denominations. Though every person is made in the image of God and is a part of God's people, Fredericksburg UMC and each of our members are brought together through the United Methodist Church and we center ourselves in United Methodist values.

We are Christ-centered, welcoming, grace-filled, justice-seeking people of God!

Christ-centered

Everything we do centers on God, who formed us in God's image, breathed into us the breath of life and whose love remains steadfast. Every worship service, every celebration and every memorial at Fredericksburg UMC centers on God's profound love for us, revealed through Jesus' life, ministry, death, resurrection, and in hope of his return.

Welcoming

At Fredericksburg UMC, we aspire to be as welcoming as possible. Whoever you are, wherever you're from, we would love to see you for who you are! We welcome everyone to participate fully in God's love through our church, including through the sacrament of baptism. Know that no matter who you are, we will love you for you and would thrilled to have you as part of our community of faith.

grace-filled

As United Methodists, we believe that the Grace of God is at work in each of our lives. We connect with that already-working grace through the sacraments of baptism and communion, as well as through worship, prayer and the work of justice. We believe that God's grace acts upon us and through us in our everyday lives, a living and active part of our daily living.

Justice-seeking

At Fredericksburg UMC, we believe Dr. King's words--that none of us are free until all of us are free. In response to the grace that God has freely given us, we freely give God our acts of justice. At Fredericksburg UMC, we share food and resources, care for the dying, empower young leaders, and amplify the voices of those have been silenced. We believe that together we can make a difference!
