This photo shows the curve right before riverside ave meets colchester ave. This photo was taken before 1930, because the fairview garage hadn't been constructed on that corner yet. Although it is difficult to see there is a trolley track running on the left side of this road. There is a landslide scar in this image, most likely due to the lack of vegetation.

This photo is from a similar spot, but I had no way to get the birds eye view. Clearly there has been a lot of progress made in the 100 years between these two photos. Things have been prettied up to the left. All of that is most likely all artificial fill. Another thing to note is the large difference in vegetation. The slopes in this area are certainly much more stable now because of that.

This photo shows the fill job that had been done on the side of riverside avenue. Comparing this photo to LS01330 you can see how much they filled in here to make it flat. There is a man to use for scale in the bottom left.

This photo really shows the changes that we have made to make this area look nicer. There is now a seemingly abandoned garage in the place of the old fairview garage. They also added in these nice walkways and street lights. This really illustrates just how much fill they added in this area. From my first image to here is a big difference. If there was no tree cover it would be a lot easier to tell that this was the correct area, but I know it is based on the Burlington Sanborn maps.
