In the January 10, 2007 Edition of the Baltimore Sun we learn that a Freddie Thornton, 69, of the 2900 block of Winchester Street had been found in the 4300 block of Franklintown Road in Leakin Park on December 23, 2006 wearing only his boxer shorts and had been stabbed 37 times. Cathy Jackson, 39, was arrested Monday at her home in the 1700 block of N. Gay St. by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging her with first-degree murder. Jackson is accused in the fatal stabbing Mr. Thornton. Arrested Dec. 26 and also charged in Thornton's death was Timothy Izzard, 49, of the 3000 block of W. Lanvale St.
Months later, in the September 27, 2007 edition of the same paper,
Mr. Izzard is sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally stabbing a man 37 times, dumping his body in Baltimore's Leakin Park and then assuming his identity, according to city prosecutors. Timothy Izzard of the 3000 block of Lanvale St. pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder and using a deadly weapon. Police in Anne Arundel County had questioned Izzard during a traffic stop about 2 1/2 hours before the body was found. Police said Izzard identified himself to the officer as Thornton and had Thornton's driver's license. Police said he admitted he was not Thornton and was given a traffic ticket for driving on a suspended license, then released. He was arrested and charged with murder Dec. 27.
A check of the judiciary case search shows us that Timothy Izzard has a couple of CDS possession charges. Cathy Annette Jackson has charges for loitering, assault and CDS - DISTR, she was released one month after being charged with Mr. Thornton's murder. No listings were provided for a Freddie Thornton, 69.
As of 11/2010 Mr. Izzard is residing at the Roxbury Correctional Institution in Hagerstown, MD.
