Effective Date: July 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how File Recovery: Data Rescue ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use the App. File Recovery: Data Rescue is designed to help users scan for deleted or missing files, review available recovery results, and restore selected recoverable items when possible.
We take privacy seriously and design the App around local file recovery functions. The App's core recovery features are intended to operate on your device so you can search for recoverable photos, videos, documents, archives, and supported files.
2. Information Processed by the App
To provide file recovery features, the App may process information related to files stored on your device, including file names, file paths, file types, file sizes, thumbnails, metadata, and recoverable file traces. This processing is used to scan storage, display recovery results, show file details, and restore selected items.
The App does not require you to create an account. We do not ask you to provide your name, phone number, address, or other account profile information to use the core recovery features.
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your request, provide support, or handle feedback.
3. Storage and File Access Permissions
File Recovery: Data Rescue may request storage, media, or all files access permissions when these permissions are necessary for recovery functions. These permissions allow the App to scan device storage, locate recoverable files, display recovery results, read file details, and restore only the items selected by the user.
Storage access is used for file recovery purposes only. The App does not use storage permissions to upload your personal files to external servers as part of the recovery process.
4. Local Processing
Recovery scans and restore operations are designed to be performed locally on your device. File contents, recoverable results, thumbnails, and file details are processed for the purpose of helping you identify and restore files.
We do not intentionally collect or upload the contents of your recovered files, deleted files, photos, videos, documents, or archives to our own servers. If you choose to share files outside the App or contact us with attachments, that action is controlled by you and may involve third-party apps or services.
5. How We Use Information
We use information processed by the App to:
scan for deleted or missing files;
display recoverable photos, videos, documents, archives, and supported files;
show file details such as names, formats, sizes, thumbnails, or paths when available;
restore files selected by the user;
maintain app functionality, stability, and performance;
respond to support requests sent to our contact email.
We do not sell your personal files or file contents.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services only when they are included in the distributed app build, such as crash reporting, analytics, advertising, app distribution, or platform services. These services may process limited technical information, such as device type, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, advertising identifiers, or usage events, depending on the SDKs included in the app.
These third-party services do not need access to your recovered file contents for the core recovery function. Their data handling is governed by their own privacy policies. If a specific app build includes third-party SDKs, please review the privacy disclosures provided in the app store listing or inside the app where applicable.
7. Foreground Service and Notifications
If the App uses a foreground service or notification during scanning or restoring, it is used to keep user-started recovery tasks visible while they are running. This may help show scan or restore progress and reduce unexpected interruption during longer recovery tasks.
Foreground service or notification features are not used for hidden monitoring, location tracking, or unrelated background activity.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your recovered files, deleted file contents, photos, videos, documents, or archives with third parties as part of the core recovery process.
We may disclose limited information only when necessary to:
comply with applicable laws or valid legal requests;
protect our rights, users, or the security of the App;
respond to support requests initiated by you;
work with service providers that help operate app functionality, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
9. Data Retention
File recovery results processed locally on your device remain under your control. You may remove restored files, clear app data, or uninstall the App using your device settings.
Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
10. User Choices and Control
You can control app permissions through your Android device settings. If you deny or revoke storage permissions, some recovery features may not work properly because the App may be unable to scan storage locations or restore selected files.
You can stop using the App at any time. You may also uninstall the App to remove its local app data according to your device's operating system behavior.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
12. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no app, device, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because file recovery depends on local device storage conditions, we recommend that users avoid unnecessary device activity after file loss to reduce the chance that deleted data may be overwritten.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we may update the effective date above or provide notice through the App or app store listing where appropriate. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
