Journeying with Jesus often raises many questions. Lord, where are you calling me? Are you really there? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why am I suffering at this time? Why am I always struggling with this same sin? Lord, how do I pray?
In a world with many competing voices, sometimes the answers to these questions seem difficult to find. Often we expect to our lives to be like a treasure map or scavenger hunt; if we just find that hidden clue, then everything will make sense. Yet, life is rarely like that because our spiritual lives are deeply personal. In faith, we as individual people with our own gifts, challenges, and uniqueness encounter another—one who loves us infinitely and who accompanies us, not by controlling us like a mindless drone but by walking with us as our creator, savior, companion, and friend. This journey calls us out of ourselves as we bring the Good News of salvation to others, striving to grow in holiness together as a Church.
This website exists, first, to provide a simple means for students, parishioners, and others to schedule meetings with me, while clearly differentiating spiritual direction from other types of appointments. Second, this website supplies a wealth of helpful resources (including quotes, books, articles, and videos) that I have found helpful in my own spiritual life; perhaps they can serve you, too.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." ~ Matthew 7:7
