Today you will be navigating Front Range Community College Virtually. The FRCC Tour will consist of 10 buildings. Does anyone know what a Fourteener is? Yes / No? In Colorado we have over 50+ mountain peaks exceeding 14,000 feet. The Larimer campus in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado, has each building named after a fourteener. The idea behind this as our college president Andy Dorsey says, “Our No.1 priority is student success” we’ll assist you in reaching the peak throughout your educational career and prepare you for the real world.
We are excited you have joined us and can’t wait to share our campus with you. The map above is of the entire campus and shows us how we will be exploring the campus during the virtual tour.
Our first stop will be at Mount Antero, after we will move forward and continue at the Longs Peak Student Center. Once we have finished there, we will continue toward The Harmony Library and move forward to explore our new Health Sciences and Wellness facility called, Grays Peak. Continuing forward, we will go ahead and explore Sunlight Peak, then Blanca Peak, Challenger Point, Red Cloud Peak, Maroon Peak, and our tour will come to an end at Little Bear Peak. There is something for everyone at Front Range Community College and we can assure you as Andy Dorsey says, “When it comes to focusing on your success, FRCC is unmatched.”

Welcome to Grays Peak, our newest building on campus. Take a moment to look around the outside at the spectacular work they have done with outdoor seating and walkway for our students to enjoy. Once you are done click forward once to enter the building. We are excited to house all our health programs in one space and to have everything back on campus.
If you look forward, you are seeing the lobby where we have tabling, comfortable seating, designed in mind for the students to mingle, study, lounge, as they pass through their classes. Additionally, under the stairs you’ll see a platform in design of a stage where they can host events and speakers.
If you click forward once, you’ll see we are headed towards the nursing and simulation suite. In this wing you can find the high-fidelity simulation space. In that space students can practice with mannequins, that breathe, move, and even talk as real as they can with modern technology. Now click forward once and to your left you’ll see two rooms both are the nursing labs. Each room will have 12 beds and 2 students will work in each bed with 24 students per room. In the center there is a table where students will first learn the procedures and then apply them. The mannequins aren’t as realistic as the simulation room yet the beds, equipment and space look and work to mimic a hospital environment.
If we turn to our left and click forward once to head down the hall. If you look over to your right, you’ll see classrooms along the entire hall. Now click forward one more time to reach the end of the hall and look over to your left to see the EMS Lab. In this space you’ll find our simulation ambulance and within the room, there will be rooms that simulate situations in which the first responder may come across in the real world. Additionally, the ambulance has motors inside so it can bump and move around as if you were riding in the roads. Again throughout the entire building the goals is to match as much as possible the experience one may have, out in the community taking care of patients.
We will now be heading south down this hall towards the dental clinic. Click forward twice and once towards the right. We have arrived at the dental clinic towards your right. The first area within the space is the reception space which leads to an actual dental clinic in the back and we used to have 4 chairs but now we have 6 chairs. It has been expanded to serve more of the public, since this a public serving clinic. This provides greater opportunity for students to learn how to become dental assistants and still serve the greater community. If you look over to your right and click once it will lead you to one of the many new study nooks around this building.
If we click back to the dental clinic and click forward once down the hall and look over to your right, you will see the dental lab space. This is the actual teaching space, the students in the dental program do clinics as well as take lab classes. In this class they will build their models, have their lecture component, use the equipment they would utilize in a clinic, create molds, and do a variety of other things.
