Natural climate solutions, such as forest preservation and reforestation have tremendous, underutilized potential to reduce carbon emissions. The Forest Climate Working Group provides additional information on this potential:

We could advocate for reforestation and deforestation-prevention provisions of U.S. Senate bills. Senator Gillibrand is a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry:
A bill passed by the NY Assembly and Senate requiring use of deforestation-free products by NY contractors was recently vetoed by Governor Hochul. We could investigate whether or not a revised bill is something some might want to advocate for. Read more in this Google Doc:
