Week 4: February 26 - 27, 2020
This week's highlight!
The theme this week was Positive Attitude! Our scholars had an opportunity to provide examples of positive and negatives attitudes and were encouraged to display more positive attitudes in their daily lives. Tuesday, we kicked off our digital behavior chart and we were blessed with words from ED "Lil Ed" Mitchell. He is a native of Syracuse, NY. Wednesday, we acknowledged the scholars with positive reports and provided consequences to those with negative reports. Friday, we attended a college tour at SUNY Cortland.
Building Men Digital Behavior Chart
This week, we rolled out our first digital behavior chart. Teachers only need to scan the qr code to fill out form. All behaviors are recorded and sent directly to the Building Men Staff. Recognition and consequences will be awarded to each deserving student! As of today, we have over 300 responses from teachers. Thanks teachers for your response!

Week 3: February 12 - 13, 2020
This week's highlights
What a fantastic week! This week, the guys discuss the theme "Be and Live the Dream!" Tuesday, Mr. Gilliard, gave his speech on how he has fulfilled dreams through all doubts and fears. Then, we were blessed by our guest speaker, Mr. Joe Stray, who also shared his story about his dreams. Later, we attended a Syracuse University basketball game against North Carolina State. Wednesday, the Building Men Staff acknowledged guys who received positive feedback from teachers and gave consequences to those with negative feedback. Finally, it was basketball as usual. Those who had to sit out, learned a lesson that INTEGRITY is IMPORTANT!
Meet Aneudy
Aneudy is an 8th grade student at Frazer. He encouraged a student that was having a bad day in Building Men not to quit. The student was struggling with following rules and expectations and decided he wanted out. However, Aneudy pulled him to the side and had a brotherly conversation. The student changed his mind. Aneudy will receive a Building Men Coin for leadership when we return from break!

This week's theme was "Who I AM!" The guys were able to express to the group who they are and what that means to them.
A Frazer Building Men Alum
Meet Carlos Cordero! He is a freshmen at The Institute of Technology, majoring in Automotive Technology. Mr. Codero volunteers his time to assist the Frazer Building Men Staff with our weekly meetings. He always present himself as a respectful young man with a purpose. He works very hard and loves helping others. Let's give it up for Carlos Codero!

This week's Highlight
This week, our Building Men Scholars completed their introduction class and played their first game of basketball. In the intro class, scholars learned how to conduct themselves during presentations and class time. Our theme for this week was Journey! We read quotes about journey and we held a discussion on what it meant to us.
