Octave blues:
An easy way into the blues:
Heading direct for the octave i the positions:
1-4-5
Within 3 frets and we have position 4 one string under position 1 and the 5th position 2 frets higher than position 4. Its an 7 shape...
Looseing your navigation ?
Turn back to the root. And follow the pattern...
These positions works all over except between the strings 2-3 due to the tuning of the guitar.
Check out the Allman Brothers "One way out"
Andalusian cadence/Ostinat. ONE SHAPE - POWERCHORD One postion based upon 5 and 4 th string - You can make it last for a hole music number and it sounds impressing.
For new guitarist this powerchord will be easy to use and the result... Hear it for yourself.
Freet 7 to 5 to 3 to 2 and then 1. E to D to C and H/B.
Keep it simple = If it works on acoustic guitar - then it will work with everything else.
If you (as I..) cant play many music numbers - then make your own music.
This is my first guitar tutorial -and I will be stepping up my game and videos.
REMEMBER: Only 1 shape (powercord) - No fancy stuff = It works and it can sound like... Pink Floyd or a number from Nina Hagen "Down to the river"/Unbehagen.
From Wikipedia: The Andalusian cadence is a term adopted from flamenco music for a chord progression comprising four chords descending stepwise – a iv–III–II–I progression with respect to the Phrygian mode or i–VII–VI–V progression with respect to the Aeolian mode. It is otherwise known as the minor descending tetrachord. Traceable back to the Renaissance, its effective sonorities made it one of the most popular progressions in classical music
Mette is Danceing salsa
Based on video from Paul Davids and guest-guitarist
Dominic Miller "Bossa Nova" (the new wave..) is beautifull
AND
Video from GuitarlessonsVancouver
"Anytime you have an 7th chord you can make it an 9-chord.
I combined those 2 videos and made the number:
"Mette is danceing salsa".
Played it at Holbaek Jazzfestival 2025.
ONE SHAPE MOVED AROUND...
BASED ON ONE CHORDSHAPE
E9 i fret 7 is 1-position
Move the shape one string up. Im playing some loose strings and playing some variations and halfsteps.
Basic moveing the E shape around.
Spiceing it up with open Fmaj7 and shifting fingers 1 and 4. Doing some halfstep moves from one position to the ..other
Breaking it up in fret 2 and 1 Groove-piece is an open E in fret 13 moved down the neck.
Sorry for the light - there was an odd light in the room...
The simple works - everytime:
Easy to remember - easy to play:
We can allway complicate it later on and maybe fuck it up...
