Frank Proulx was a soldier who fought in World War I. He was born in Gaspé Quebec, Canada. Frank was born February 28th, 1897. He moved to McNab Braeside and joined the army. He was a 5’3 young adult with dark features when he enlisted. He was a Roman Catholic and attended St. John Chrysostom church like many of the other soldiers at that time. Frank's life ended in 1934. He is buried in Arnprior.

The 130th battalion was a unit from the Canadian Expeditionary Force, also know as the CEF. This unit started recruiting soldiers in 1915, in Renfrew County. They sent troops overseas to Europe. Frank was a part of this battalion.
Vimy Ridge is in Northern France where a Canadian victory in World War I took place. The battle took place April 9th to April 12th in 1917. Many Canadians suffered and 10,600 were wounded or killed during this battle. Frank served at the battle of Vimy Ridge and was able to survive.
