About me:
I received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Communication Sciences Institute, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Southern California (USC), in 1999 and 2003, respectively, under the supervision of Prof. P. Vijay Kumar.
During my doctoral studies at USC, I worked as an intern at Scintera Networks in San Jose, CA (2002.02-2003.05), and at Winbond Electronics Corp. in Torrance, CA (2003). After completing my Ph.D., I was a postdoc research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, supported by Prof. En-Hui Yang. In 2004.02, I joined the Department of Communications Engineering at National Chung Cheng University. Since 2008.08, I have been with the Institute of Communications Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, where I am a full professor. My research interests include B5G/6G MIMO communications, error correction codes, multi-terminal information theory, quantum communications, nonlinear/nonconvex optimizations and pure mathematics.
I received the Best Ph.D. Paper Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering at USC in 2002.04. I was also awarded the 2006 Best Paper Award for Young Scholars by the IEEE ITSoc Taipei Chapter and the IEEE ComSoc Taipei/Tainan Chapter. Major honors include the 2007 Wu Ta-You Memorial Award, the 2007 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award, and the 2008 Academia Sinica Young Researcher Award. I served as Chapter Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Taipei Chapter (2015-2016) and as TPC cochair for AAECC (2007), ITW (2017), ISIT (2023) and Finance cochair for ISITA (2010). I have been an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
