About me:
I received my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Communication Sciences Institute, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Southern California (USC), in 1999 and 2003, respectively, under the supervision of Prof. P. Vijay Kumar.
During my doctoral studies at USC, I interned as an engineer at Scintera Networks in San Jose, CA, and at Winbond Electronics Corporation in Torrance, CA. Following my Ph.D., I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, supported by Prof. En-Hui Yang. In February 2004, I joined the Department of Communications Engineering at National Chung Cheng University. Since August 2008, I have been with the Institute of Communications Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, where I currently serve as a full professor. My research interests include B5G/6G MIMO wireless communication systems, mmWave communications, error-correcting codes, information theory, and quantum communications.
In April 2002, I received the Best Ph.D. Paper Award from the Department of Electrical Engineering at USC. I was also the recipient of the 2006 Best Paper Award for Young Scholars from the IEEE Information Theory Society Taipei Chapter and the IEEE Communications Society Taipei/Tainan Chapter. Additional honors include the 2007 Wu Ta-You Memorial Award, the 2007 IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award, and the 2008 Academia Sinica Young Researcher Award. I served as Chapter Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Taipei Chapter during 2015–2016 and have been an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
