The author of this volume has already made a name for himself in the field of poetry and short stories. Now he is trying his hand at a new direction, the essential reason for which is found in his passion for the deeds of Fra Dolcino. Passion that found its source during his long stay in Valsesia for work reasons. The work seems to me to be balanced and well documented overall. The first two parts constitute a good introduction to the history of the Dolcino movement, while the third part manages to project useful rays of light on the singular prophetic vision of the figure of Dolcino.

Other characteristics that stand out are the freshness of the narration and the passionate commitment with which the author has tried his hand at a complex direction such as the apostolic movement.

Notes on the author

The author, Francesco Paolo Magro, has felt the urge since his youth to transfuse his moods into poems and short stories, achieving important recognitions, such as the assignment of the first prize for prose in the national competition "Sincerità", 1995 edition, promoted by the Pegaso Cultural Association of Biella. Several of his poems have been published in poetry collections and his story "Toledo" has also been translated into sound form for the blind. In particular, in 2003 he published the CD 'Pensieri d'amore' in which he intensely recites his poems accompanied by music by Claude Debussy and Francisco Tarrega.

For a long time, among his interests, a strong emphasis has been placed on the study of religious traditions, with particular attention to the mystical and prophetic aspects of which this book is a clear testimony.
