Assistant Professor of Economics (Tenure-Track, RTDB) , Department of Economics and Management, University of Padova
Research Fellow, Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano
Welcome to my personal page!
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics (tenure-track, RTDB) at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova, and a Research Fellow at Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano.
I am an applied economist. My research focuses on the economic and political effects of regular and forced migration on host countries, and, more recently, on the economics of crime, in particular drug trafficking and violence perpetrated by criminal organizations in Colombia. I also work on the economics of education, studying how Italian high-school students choose their university field of study.
I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Padua in November 2017. I then worked briefly as a research assistant at the Department of Political Economy, King’s College London. From June 2018 to February 2023, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS) at the University of Milan-Bicocca. In March 2023, I joined again the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Padova as Assistant Professor of Economic Policy (RTD-A), and since November 2024 I hold a tenure-track position (RTD-B).
